Hours After Anti-Trump Ambassador Insults Our President, Karma Comes A-Knocking
By Ben Dutka|July 11, 2019

When a UK ambassador took a shot at our President, Trump wasn’t pleased.

In recently leaked comments from Sir Kim Darroch, the ambassador called POTUS “insecure” and “incompetent.”

Trump wasn’t pleased and quickly posted a Twitter message saying he wouldn’t “deal with him anymore.”

Well, the impact of this little flare-up has been felt:

Darroch is gone.

Though we can’t say definitively that Trump’s refusal to work with Darroch any longer was the catalyst, we can say it didn’t go over well with some of his colleagues.

From The Guardian:

“Sir Kim Darroch, the UK ambassador to Washington who has been at the centre of a diplomatic row over leaked cables criticising Donald Trump, has resigned.

…he concluded his position was untenable after watching the Conservative leadership debate on Tuesday, in which the frontrunner, Boris Johnson, stopped short of backing him.”

Afterward, Darroch quickly made a decision to leave his post.

The current situation is making it impossible for me to carry out my role as I would like,” he said in a letter to Simon McDonald, the most senior official at the Foreign Office.

Outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May voiced her displeasure with Darroch’s decision, while Jeremy Corbyn called the treatment of Darroch “unfair and wrong.”

However, it was Johnson’s refusal to support Darroch that appeared to hit the hardest.

In fact, Foreign Office minister Sir Alan Duncan accused Johnson of “throwing Darroch under the bus to serve his own personal interests.”

But regardless of colleague reactions, this ambassador is now gone … and I’m willing to bet Trump is happy about it.

POTUS has said on more than one occasion that he doesn’t like Darroch, and finds him “very stupid” and “a pompous fool.”

We have to maintain good relations with our ally, and when two leading figures from each side don’t get along, it leaves a bad taste in everyone’s mouths.

So, despite the backlash, maybe Darroch’s decision was the right one.

…because nobody should expect Trump to resign any time soon, that’s for sure!

Do you think Sir Kim Darroch should’ve resigned? SHARE if you do!
