Baseball Great Calls Out AOC Over Boulder Response – Challenges Her to Do Something to Help

Ever notice how some people in Washington are really good at talking? They can talk about problems all day long. They can say how sad and sorry they are when bad things happen. But when it’s time to actually do something, well, that’s a different story, isn’t it?

It’s like they have all the right words, but the actions just don’t follow. Thankfully, every now and then, someone steps up, cuts through the noise, and says what a lot of us are thinking. And sometimes, that someone is a sports hero who’s not afraid to speak his mind.

That’s exactly what happened when former baseball star Kevin Youkilis, a two-time World Series champ, heard what Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) had to say about a recent, shocking attack in Boulder, Colorado. After people calling for Israeli hostages to be freed were attacked, AOC said she was “horrified.” She talked about a “moral responsibility to confront and stop” antisemitism. Sounds good, right? But Youkilis wasn’t buying it.

He shot back, asking AOC a very direct question.

From ‘Fox News’:

“Jews are targeted with violence and it’s the same virtue signal post time and time again,” he wrote on X in response. “What have you done to confront those calling for intifadas in NYC? Until you create a plan of action, your repeated virtue signaling after the violence occurs holds no weight.”

More Than Just Empty Words, Please!

Youkilis, who is Jewish, basically told AOC that her words felt empty. He said that real leadership means having a “plan of action,” not just tweeting nice things after people get hurt. He even pointed out that politicians, and it sure sounds like he means people like AOC and her Democrat colleagues, often “shy away in fear of losing votes and power” instead of taking a brave stand.

He challenged her to confront the “radical mobs chanting for intifadas in NYC.” That’s a strong call for action, not just more talk. It’s about holding people accountable for hateful speech before it turns into hateful actions.

When “Compassion” Opens the Floodgates

And hateful action is exactly what happened in Boulder. The FBI called it a “targeted terror attack.” Eight people, who were simply trying to raise awareness for Israeli hostages, were lit on fire with homemade devices. The man accused of this horror, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, wasn’t even supposed to be in the country.

Reports say Soliman came here in August 2022. His permission to stay ran out in February 2023. Yet, somehow, he got a work permit in March 2023 from the previous administration, valid through March 2024. He overstayed again and was here illegally when the attack happened. This is the kind of dangerous mess the Trump administration is now working hard to clean up, a direct result of the failed open-door policies of the past.

Suddenly Silent When It Counts?

This isn’t the first time AOC’s words have raised eyebrows. Remember those chaotic anti-Israel protests at Columbia University? While Jewish students were being told to stay home for their own safety, AOC called the agitators “peaceful.” It makes you wonder if some leaders only see what they want to see.

When people are chanting for violence and hate, calling it “peaceful” doesn’t make it so. And when terror strikes, offering thoughts and prayers without a commitment to tackle the root causes – including who we are letting into our country and what hateful ideologies are being allowed to fester – just isn’t enough. Americans, especially conservative patriots, are tired of the double standards and the empty promises. They want leaders who will protect our nation and its values, not just talk about them.

Key Takeaways:

  • Empty political talk is useless; citizens demand decisive action against hate.
  • Failed past immigration policies enabled threats; President Trump is restoring order and security.
  • Real leaders confront all hate, not just when politically easy or convenient.
