Biden Just Sent Democrats a Jaw-Dropping Letter – This Is Not What Americans Were Expecting

In the wake of his disastrous first presidential debate of this election cycle last month, Joe Biden himself has officially become Democrats’ worst nightmare.

In the days since Biden botched his first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle against Donald Trump, calls have been growing among Democrats for Biden to drop out of this race. After Biden’s cognitive failings were put on full display for the entire country, many Democrats hoped that he would put the party first and step aside so that they can run a more viable candidate.

Unfortunately for Democrats everywhere, however, Biden has since made it clear that he has no intention of going anywhere. Instead, he sent a letter to House Democrats on Monday, defiantly saying that he has no plans to drop out of this race at all.

From The Associated Press:
Biden wrote in the two-page letter that “the question of how to move forward has been well-aired for over a week now. And it’s time for it to end.” He stressed that the party has “one job,” which is to defeat presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in November.

“We have 42 days to the Democratic Convention and 119 days to the general election,” Biden said in the letter, distributed by his reelection campaign. “Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity about the task ahead only helps Trump and hurts us. It’s time to come together, move forward as a unified party, and defeat Donald Trump.”

Biden later doubled down on this letter in an interview with Morning Joe on MSNBC. There, Biden insisted that “average Democrats” want him to stay in the race.

Of course, he offered no evidence to back up this assertion.  Biden then expressed his frustration with the Democrat officials who desperately want him to step aside.

“They’re big names, but I don’t care what those big names think,” Biden said. Later in this interview, Biden dared the “elites” of his party to challenge him at the Democratic National Convention if they really want him to go away.

“If any of these guys don’t think I should run, run against me. Go ahead. Announce for president — challenge me at the convention,” he said.

Be careful what you wish for, Joe, because that might just happen!  Check out a clip from that interview in the video below.

This all adds up to one gigantic mess for the Democratic Party.

Biden’s performance in last month’s debate was so bad that even the most devoted of Democrats can no longer stand by him. That night, his cognitive decline was on full display for the country like never before. After years of complete and total denial, Democrats finally had to admit the truth about their beloved 81-year-old president and his diminished mental capacities.

Biden’s cognitive state is so obviously bad that it clearly would be in his best interest to step aside. If for no other reason, Biden should drop out just to avoid embarrassing himself any further. Unfortunately for the Democratic Party, however, Biden’s own pride has gotten in the way.

Despite the “good guy” image that Biden has tried to put forth about himself, he would never actually put his party above his own interests. In the end, like many career politicians, Biden will always put himself first. Whether he is mentally capable of leading this country or not, Biden does not want to go down in history as a one-term president.

It can no longer be denied that Biden has become the ultimate thorn in the side of the Democratic Party. The longer that he defiantly stays in this presidential race, the less likely it is that Democrats will have control of the White House come November.

Key Takeaways:

  • Calls have been growing among Democrats for Biden to drop out of the presidential race since his disastrous debate performance.
  • Biden sent a letter to House Democrats on Monday defiantly refusing to drop out, despite these growing calls.
  • Even though Democrats would have a better shot at winning this presidential race if they could run another candidate, Biden will likely never put his party first and step aside.
