The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is being sued to turn over approximately 5,400 emails connected to then-Vice President Joe Biden’s pseudonym accounts to forward government information and business with his son, Hunter Biden, and others.
Biden’s secret pseudonyms – Robin Ware, Robert L. Peters, and JRB Ware – were confirmed by NARA officials. Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF) filed a federal lawsuit against the agency on Monday. Kimberly Hermann, general counsel for SLF, wants the thousands of emails to learn why Biden was hiding behind other names.
“The American public deserves to know what is in them,” Hermann said. “All too often, public officials abuse their power by using it for their personal or political benefit. When they do, many seek to hide it.”
SLF stated that is has found thousands of emails with potential connections to Hunter Biden and his foreign business dealings dating back to 2017. This isn’t the first request for the emails from SLF. The group’s request in 2021 was denied as NARA officials balked at releasing the information.
The lawsuit follows an ongoing House Republican investigation into President Biden’s alleged use of fake names with emails. Republicans are seeking all information about the first family and members’ business dealings.
NARA officials need to quit balking and hiding behind Presidential Records Act interpretations and release these emails to the public. If Biden and his family have nothing to hide, he should order the release of all his records related to his time in the Senate and as vice president. The people have a right to know what Biden was doing while working for taxpayers.
