What’s Happening:
Across the world, citizens and nations are standing in support of the nation of Israel. World leaders have condemned the actions of Hamas, who invaded Israel to murder women and children.
But, to the shock of many, progressives have been defending the actions of this group. In America and other countries, people have voiced support for Hamas and accused Israel of being an apartheid regime.
Now, Marxist organization Black Lives Matter has issued statements on the horrible attacks. This progressive, Democrat-affiliated group posted to social media. Few have not been outraged by what they said.
From Mediaite:
The massacre was commemorated by Black Lives Matter in Chicago, which posted a graphic of a paraglider, the Palestinian flag, and the caption “I stand with Palestine” on X Tuesday. On Instagram, Black Lives Matter Los Angeles also joined in the celebration, insisting that Hamas’ “resistance must not be condemned, but understood as a desperate act of self-defense.”
“We, too, understand what it means to be surveilled, dehumanized, property seized, families separated, our people criminalized and slaughtered with impunity, locked up in droves and when we resist they call us terrorist,” continued the chapter.
Various BLM chapters posted messages of support for terror group Hamas. A tweet posted by a chapter in Chicago stated, “I stand with Palestine.” The tweet has since been deleted.
However, Los Angeles’s BLM chapter still has up an Instagram post defending Hamas’s actions (at the time of this writing). The post called the murder of defenseless civilians “a desperate act of self-defense.”
The Hamas attack was unprovoked. They targeted peaceful, civilian settlements and communities. Yet BLM defended Palestinians, claiming they were victims of “unimaginable violence.” The group called Palestinians “the oppressed.”
It appears BLM does not consider the actions of this group against children to be “unimaginable violence.” The group associated itself with Hamas, claiming “we, too” are victims. BLM claimed their people have been “slaughtered.”
It appears they believe Israel is a “colonizer” who has no rights to its ancestorial homeland. Because of this, some leftists are siding with this radical group who is seeking to eradicate an entire group of people.
It is unlikely it will find sympathy with Americans outside of its ranks.
Key Takeaways:
- Several BLM chapters supported Palestine and defended the Hamas attacks in Israel.
- BLM Los Angeles posted to Instagram, calling the horrific attack “a desperate act of self-defense.”
- Progressive leftists around the world have voiced support for Palestine, blaming Israel for the attack.
