Blue City Blindsided by Shock Poll – They Didn’t Expect This from Liberal Voters

What’s Happening:

Under Joe Biden’s leadership, America has seen a staggering increase in illegal immigration. Although federal law allows the government to deport illegal entrants, the Biden administration is instead busing them to various corners of the country.

Border states have become overwhelmed by the hundreds of thousands of migrants pouring in every month. Some have sent just a few of these migrants to Northern cities–which have long branded themselves as “sanctuaries” for aliens.

Now, Democrat mayors are complaining about the large influx of migrants. Major cities are claiming they are out of room as they invent means of housing these aliens. Communities are faced with radical changes, as migrants take up space, crowd hotels, and encamp in parks. And a new report reveals Biden’s policy is driving voters to this Trump-era program. From The Post Millennial:

According to the poll, which surveyed 800 people between September 5 and 8, 41 percent of residents across New York state said they support the construction of a wall down the entire length of the border with Mexico. A similar percentage of the population agreed that migrants “take more in resources than they return in economic activity.”

A new poll reveals that 41% of liberal New Yorkers want a border wall across the U.S.-Mexico line. This comes as massive numbers of illegal immigrants continue to enter the city. New York Mayor Eric Adams has been a frequent critic of this deluge but has yet to call on Joe Biden to deport any of them.

Adams has even announced budget cuts, including cuts to the NYPD, to fund housing and other provisions for illegal aliens. Communities in NYC have protested the construction of tent cities besides schools and public buildings. Adams has arrested residents for protesting.

Forty-one percent is a large number, given how New York residents are liberal-leaning. In recent years, the city has appeared to become more liberal, elected to Democrat mayors in succession.

Yet the growing migrant crisis could be a breaking point for the city’s inhabitants. New York was hard-hit by the COVID pandemic. Lockdowns lingered longer than in other states. And a rise in crime has further hurt the city’s economic recovery.

A sudden, large influx of migrants is only adding further strain on the city. This comes as inflation and other economic woes put a crimp on Americans’ pocketbooks. It should come as no surprise to the rest of the country that a growing number of New Yorkers are in favor of a border wall.

Key Takeaways:

  • A new poll reveals 41% of New Yorkers are in favor of a border wall on the U.S.-Mexico line.
  • This comes as the migrant crisis hits the city hard, with tens of thousands of aliens in the city.
  • New York Mayor Adams has announced budget cuts to pay for migrant housing and services.
