CNN Gets Trounced in the Ratings by Food Network And Hallmark Channel After Election

Election Day was nothing short of a nightmare for the liberals over at CNN. The leftwing network had spent months falsely portraying Kamala Harris as such a viable candidate that there was no way she could lose to Donald Trump.

Imagine the shock of CNN’s loyal viewers when contrary to what their network of choice had been telling them would happen, Trump trounced Harris in both the Electoral College and the popular vote. This effectively ruined all of CNN’s credibility. How could viewers ever trust them again when they had been so wrong about this election?

The latest ratings show just how devastating this entire debacle has been for CNN. In perhaps its most humiliating hit yet, CNN has fallen behind the Food Network and the Hallmark Channel.

From Daily Wire:
Despite a busy news cycle with Trump cabinet announcements, the murder of health insurance CEO Brian Thompson, and chaos in Syria, the ratings were dismal for the network’s primetime shows like “Anderson Cooper 360” and “The Source with Kaitlan Collins” during the week of Dec. 2, Fox News reported.

The evening lineup averaged a total of 367,000 total viewers between 8-11 p.m. In comparison, Fox News averaged 2.5 million total primetime viewers last week.

The audience for CNN wasn’t just less than Food Network, Fox News, and Hallmark Channel, but also MSNBC, ESPN, Freeform, TNT, Discovery, INSP, Hallmark Mystery, TLC, TBS, History, HGTV, USA, and Paramount. In fact, it came in 17th in cable in primetime, the outlet noted.

It doesn’t get much more embarrassing than that, folks!

Things Get Worse For CNN

Things get even worse for CNN when looking at the coveted 25-54 age group, which is seen as the most crucial demographic by advertisers. Among this age group, in the wake of Trump’s victory, CNN has an average of just 67,000 viewers. This abysmal figure puts CNN behind such cable networks as TV Land, MTV, Adult Swim, Nick at Nite, and Comedy Central among viewers aged 25-54.

In contrast, Fox News has been thriving in the weeks since the election. Last week, Fox News had an average of 280,000 viewers in the 25-54 age demographic during primetime. That’s a number that CNN could only dream of!

The crazed leftists at CNN only have themselves to blame for this. They’ve spent much of the past decade obsessively and oftentimes falsely attacking Trump.

Meanwhile, CNN has spent the past four years seemingly covering for Biden every chance they get. Until June of this year, CNN was still pushing the narrative that any claims that Biden’s cognitive abilities might be declining were nothing more than rightwing conspiracies.

That all changed when it came time for Biden to take on Trump in their first and ultimately only debate. Biden’s performance was so abysmal that even CNN could no longer defend him, casting him aside virtually overnight.

When Biden finally dropped out of the race in July, CNN wasted no time in heaping praise on his replacement Kamala Harris. CNN tried to portray Harris as the most qualified presidential candidate of all time. Of course, in reality, she was the exact opposite of that. This all came to a head on Election Day when Harris lost handily. Her defeat confirmed just how out of touch CNN is with the wants and needs of the American people.

In the end, if CNN wants more ratings, they might want to start being a little less biased in the left’s favor. Unfortunately for this joke of a network, however, it might simply be too late for them to ever bounce back from this.

Key Takeaways:

  • CNN’s ratings plummet after Trump’s victory.
  • CNN has fallen behind The Food Network and The Hallmark Channel.
  • CNN has lost all credibility.
