Heading into Election Day, the mainstream media assumed that there was no way that Donald Trump could lose to Kamala Harris. After years of burying Trump on a daily basis, members of the mainstream media went into Tuesday expecting to cover a landslide victory for their beloved Harris.

Once the polls had closed, however, it didn’t take them long to see just how wrong they were. By the end of the night, Trump was the clear victor, much to the shock of liberal reporters everywhere.

One of the best moments of Election Day came when CNN host Jake Tapper realized live on air that Harris had failed to outperform President Joe Biden’s 2020 results in even one county in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania. It was then that Tapper appeared to finally understand that Trump was going to win this election.

Tapper asked CNN chief national correspondent John King to pull up a graphic showing in which states Harris had gotten at least 3% more votes than Biden had in the last election — just to be presented with a gray map reflecting her failure even in that.

“Holy smokes!” Tapper gasped. “Literally nothing?”

“Literally nothing,” King confirmed.

The slide, which would have lit up states where Harris outperformed Biden by 3% or more, was instead completely gray.

“Literally not one county?” Tapper asked again, still sounding shocked in the footage.

King Doubles Down

King proceeded to show counties instead of states. He pointed out that Harris only outperformed Biden by 3% in just 58 counties.

“So in counties, in 58 counties,” King said. “We just showed Donald Trump was over a thousand counties of the 4,600 counties and townships across America.”

“There might be more out here on the West Coast, possibly one or two more as they finish the count here, but in the states that matter — again, I just showed you all those Trump counties — in one county in battleground Pennsylvania, she’s outperforming President Biden by 3% or more,” he continued.

The Mainstream Media Has Lost Touch With Reality

This clip perfectly sums up just how out of touch with reality the mainstream media has become. Indeed, it comes as no surprise that millions of Americans have lost all faith in anything the mainstream media has to say!

Tapper and his fellow CNN hosts have spent much of the past decade ranting and raving against Trump on a daily basis. In doing so, they have alienated the bulk of American viewers, with the only ones remaining being the most radical of liberals. This created an echo chamber that made Tapper and his colleagues at CNN confident that Trump had no chance of winning this election.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the vast majority of Americans who have lost all faith in CNN quietly headed to the voting booth. There, they let their voices be heard and ended up giving smug liberals like Tapper the shock of their lives on Election Day.

We can only hope that Trump’s victory is the wake-up call that the mainstream media needs when it comes to how out of touch they are with the wants and needs of working-class Americans. Only time will tell if this changes the way that CNN handles its coverage in the future!
