Governor DeSantis Signs Historic Florida Bill – Democrats Are Furious After Ron’s New Crackdown for Justice

What’s Happening:

Slowly, but surely, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is restoring sanity to the Sunshine State. The once “swing” state is becoming a leader among red states. The governor has scored major wins for residents, pushing back on the radical left’s toxic agenda.

But it seems like he’s far from being finished.

The governor just signed a landmark bill into law that will freeze criminals in their tracks. This law has undone years of work by the pro-criminal left. It ensures that criminals found guilty of heinous crimes face real justice. And the left just can’t stand it.

From Twitter:

Today, I signed legislation ensuring the victims of the most heinous crimes get justice. Once a defendant in a capital case is found guilty by a unanimous jury, one juror should not be able to veto a capital sentence.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law that eliminates the need for a unanimous jury requirement for death penalty charges. Previously, if just one juror voted against the penalty, a convicted criminal would be protected.

Such was the case with the infamous Parkland school shooter. Three jurors voted against the death penalty for this killer, even though he mercilessly gunned down 17 people in 2018. This new law changes that requirement.

Only eight jurors need to support a death sentence for it to go through.

This will surely outrage “criminal justice reform” activists who have been working to erase the death penalty for decades. Many states have outlawed it entirely, removing a powerful deterrent for crime. The left has spread propaganda against the death penalty, using a variety of misleading arguments.

Hmm… I wonder if that’s why we are seeing so much violent crime in America?

This move will most likely be challenged by leftists. They will stop at nothing to ensure violent criminals are protected from justice–as law-abiding citizens are put up on the chopping block.

Key Takeaways:

  • Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a law removing unanimous jury consent for the death penalty.
  • Previously, only one juror could block a death sentence if they voted against it.
  • The new rule will require only eight jurors to vote in favor of the sentence.
