Increasing crime and civil unrest is one of the biggest concerns of American citizens today. And many right-wing individuals fear that Democrats are basically letting law and order fall into disarray.

They claim that by constantly coddling criminals, lowering the penalties for crimes, and criticizing law enforcement at every turn, crime skyrockets.

But Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis won’t allow one new “woke” idea to take root in his state.

Recently, the deep blue states of New York and Illinois ditched cash bail, which Republicans argue will only cause more repeat offenses. In general, they say it makes the streets far more dangerous.

However, DeSantis says the idea is not “sound judgment” and rather than being a move to help the people, it’s just another “ideological agenda.”

That’s why he refuses to consider tossing cash bail in Florida; as he said during a recent speech to the Miami Police Benevolent Association (via Fox News):

The Republican leader added that the state has taken strides to preserve law and order, which includes halting attempts by “rogue” judges to release alleged criminals for certain crimes.

DeSantis also said his administration will limit who is eligible for release before their first court appearance based on the crime. And judges will be the “ultimate decision makers” when it comes to detention.

Rep. Carlos Gimenez, a fellow Republican in Florida, applauded DeSantis’ stance, saying the elimination of cash bail is definitely “woke.”

The issue of law enforcement and crime is a top priority for citizens and politicians, and most voters say they only want leaders who focus on this topic.

The security of our nation seems to be crumbling and Republicans say the answer doesn’t lie in more coddling of bad behavior, but rather in simply enforcing the law and punishing bad behavior.

Governors like DeSantis don’t believe you fight crime by looking the other way and blaming everything on racism, or anything other than the perpetrator.
