The country has watched as Democrats attacked former President Donald Trump with every civil and criminal legal angle they could concoct. These controversial proceedings have left people from everyday working Americans to legal scholars in disbelief over what has happened.
Critics claim the judicial system is being used by leftists as if the U.S. were a third-world banana republic with the party in power attacking its opponents. The people’s faith in prosecutors, judges, and juries has taken a hit — some say, largely due to these legal attacks on Trump.
This lawfare, as dubbed by Republicans, is beyond acceptable and some Republican leaders are starting to fight back against the tide of judicial attacks.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey (R) announced Thursday he intends to sue the state of New York over its “unconstitutional lawfare” against former President Trump.“I will be filing suit against the State of New York for their direct attack on our democratic process through unconstitutional lawfare against President Trump,” Bailey wrote in a post on the social platform X.
“The state of Missouri and the voters of Missouri have a sovereign interest in having access to — that means having physical access to and hearing from — a presidential candidate for the top office in the United States government,” Bailey told Fox News during an appearance Friday.
This legal response follows the conviction of the former president on 34 counts of falsifying business records in his New York hush money trial before a Manhattan jury nearly a month ago. The verdict made Trump the first former president in U.S. history to be convicted of felony crimes.
Bailey noted that the trial and conviction denies Missourians the ability to access their selection for a presidential candidate.
“Millions and millions of Missourians have voted for President Trump and deserve the ability to hear from him. We can’t let states like New York deny Missourians of access to that candidate,” Bailey said later during the appearance.
Bailey testified last week before the House Judiciary Committee last week on the “illegal prosecution” of the former president. He believes that the felony conviction is likely to be tossed eventually, but it would be “too late, it will still have interfered with the 2024 election.”
He held little back in describing how badly the misuse of the judicial system by Democrats has affected the country.
“This is a strategic attack against a former president of the United States, against a current candidate for president, and against the value we as a nation place on our system of government,” Bailey said before the House committee. “The term ‘lawfare,’ while apt, fails to adequately convey the moral depravity underpinning this strategic attack.”
