We are about two years away from the 2024 Election. But, all signs point to a very hot 2023 political season. The Republican primaries have yet to begin, but news is stirring about what might happen in the coming months.
The current frontrunner, Donald Trump, is gearing up for an exciting year. He announced his first 2024 rally, which will be held in South Carolina. Soon after this news came out, the leading conservative event in the country announced its 2023 lineup. And guess who got the top spot?
From The Post Millennial:
Former President and 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump is set to headline this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) which is scheduled to take place March 1-4 in Washington, DC…
CPAC is an annual conference hosted by the American Conservative Union and features prominent voices in the conservative movement. The conference will be returning to DC for the first time since the onset of the pandemic, after being held in Florida for two years.
For CPAC’s return to Washington, D.C., it will be featuring Donald Trump as the headline speaker. That almost feels like an omen, in a way. CPAC is returning to D.C. after years of being in Florida. Does that mean Trump will soon return to D.C., after living in Florida too?
Trump has been a top guest at the conference for many years, especially since becoming president. CPAC brings out conservatives from across the country. Major Republican figures will be at the event, including those with presidential aspirations.
The former president announced his re-election campaign in the Fall of 2022. But aside from a few press releases and campaign videos, he’s done very little. This CPAC appearance could be a major moment for Trump to refire his supporters and get the party to align behind him.
Many are wondering if anyone will challenge Trump for the GOP nomination. Several prominent names have floated around, but nobody has yet to announce a campaign. Whoever appears alongside Trump as CPAC might use the opportunity to build their profile.
But will it be enough to go up against a juggernaut like Trump? It all depends on how successful Trump’s speech is. Is he willing to put aside 2020 to motivate the base for next year? Can he cast a vision for America that will not only excite Republicans, but swing voters?
I guess we’ll find out.
- Donald Trump will headline the biggest conservative conference in D.C.
- CPAC will return to D.C. for this year’s event, with Trump as the main guest.
- This comes as Trump announced his first campaign event, which will be in South Carolina.
