Federal Judge Criticizes Biden’s Hunter Pardon in 5-Page Rebuke

In a move that shocked few but outraged many, President Joe Biden used his presidential power to pardon his son, Hunter Biden.

Yes, the same Joe Biden who once promised not to interfere in his son’s legal troubles. That promise? Out the window.

Instead, Biden went all in, issuing a sweeping pardon that covers years of wrongdoing. And to make things worse, he justified the pardon by blaming politically motivated judges.

Biden’s statement about the pardon wasn’t just tone-deaf; it was a direct attack on the federal judges who oversaw Hunter’s cases. He painted them as biased and unfair, claiming they were out to get his son because of his last name.

But one of those judges, Mark C. Scarsi, wasn’t having it. He decided to release a ruling calling out Biden’s claims.

From Daily Wire:
The California federal judge overseeing Hunter Biden’s tax charges issued a scathing five-page ruling in response to President Joe Biden’s pardon of his son, saying that the president justified his pardon with reasons that are false and offensive…

“According to the President, ‘no reasonable person who looks at the facts of Mr. Biden’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Mr. Biden was singled out only because he is the President’s son.’ But two federal judges expressly rejected Mr. Biden’s arguments that the Government prosecuted Mr. Biden because of his familial relation to the President,” he wrote.

Judge Scarsi Fires Back at Biden’s Lies

Judge Mark C. Scarsi issued a fiery five-page ruling that left Biden’s claims in tatters. The California federal judge wasn’t pulling any punches.

He outright rejected Biden’s assertion that Hunter was treated unfairly because of his father’s presidency. “Nowhere does the Constitution give the President the authority to rewrite history,” Scarsi wrote.

Translation? Biden’s excuses are as flimsy as Hunter’s tax filings.

The president’s justification rested on Hunter’s supposed addiction struggles. Biden claimed his son’s tax evasion was no different from that of others dealing with addiction.

Wrong again. Judge Scarsi pointed out that Hunter admitted to engaging in tax fraud after his period of addiction. Nice try, Joe. But the timeline doesn’t lie.

Then came the pièce de résistance: Scarsi called out Biden’s attack on the judiciary. Biden claimed that no reasonable person could look at Hunter’s case and see anything but political targeting.

Scarsi shot back, noting that two federal judges had already rejected that argument. And those judges? Appointed by presidents from both parties. The president’s own Attorney General oversaw the investigation.

Apparently, Biden thinks this bipartisan team of judges and civil servants are all unreasonable. Bold strategy, Cotton.

A Pardon That Pushes Boundaries

If Biden’s justification wasn’t bad enough, the pardon itself raised even more eyebrows. Judge Scarsi was surprised by its unusually broad nature, which covered every act Hunter committed from 2014 through December 1, the very day the pardon was signed.

Technically, it even seemed to allow for crimes Hunter committed later that same day. Scarsi noted that presidents don’t have the power to pardon future crimes. But in a diplomatic nod, he assumed Biden didn’t mean it that way. How generous.

Special prosecutor David Weiss joined the fray, opposing Hunter’s motion to dismiss his indictment based on the pardon. Weiss emphasized that a pardon is not a magical eraser for bad behavior.

It’s an act of mercy for someone who is guilty. Weiss also reminded the court that multiple judges—appointed by six different presidents—had all rejected Hunter’s claims of political targeting.

The evidence against Hunter was rock-solid, and the grand jury’s indictment was legitimate.

Biden’s Broken Promise

Let’s not forget the biggest issue here: Biden flat-out broke his promise. Time and again, he told the American people he wouldn’t pardon his son. He wanted to show that no one is above the law, not even his family.

And yet, when the heat turned up, Biden caved. The pardon isn’t just a betrayal of his word; it’s an insult to every American who trusted him to keep it.

Hunter’s legal troubles are well-documented. The president’s son has a rap sheet that would make any defense attorney cringe.

But instead of letting justice take its course, Biden interfered. And then he had the audacity to accuse the courts of being unfair.

Key Takeaways

  • Biden Lied: He promised not to pardon Hunter but did it anyway.
  • Judge Scarsi Dropped the Hammer: Biden’s claims of unfair treatment were dismantled by a federal judge.
  • The Pardon Is a Disaster: It’s overly broad, legally questionable, and undermines public trust.
