Now the Biden administration’s U.S. Department of Education (DOE) is taking up cases of alleged discrimination involving complaints from Jewish and Muslim students at the schools. The investigation ultimately pits the liberal-leaning Biden DOE against liberal arts colleges and one large Blue city.

“Hate has no place in our schools, period,” Education Secretary Miguel Cardona told Axios in a statement earlier this month. “When students are targeted because they are — or are perceived to be — Jewish, Muslim, Arab, Sikh, or any other ethnicity or shared ancestry, schools must act to ensure safe and inclusive educational environments where everyone is free to learn.”
That assurance of safety is at the heart of the DOE investigation. The inquiries revolve around complaints from Jewish and Muslim students who have alleged discrimination resulting from tensions over the war in Gaza.
The latest DOE inquiry centers on Harvard University and the New York City Department of Education. This adds to the list of six colleges and a school district where investigations have already started. Reports show students complained about harassment following the terror attacks with Jewish and Israeli students claiming that administrators did not respond properly to complaints.
Opinions about conflict in the Middle East have been a struggle for schools in the states. Jewish and Muslim students have been pitted against each other during protests following the Hamas attack against Israel. Critics have pounded the Biden administration for not adequately handling the situation while the Department of Education began investigating discrimination complaints from students.
