Joe Biden is facing a series of challenges in his 2024 re-election bid. He has suffered from some of the worst approval ratings in U.S. presidential history. The country has been hit with numerous crises under his watch.
Despite spin from the media and his White House, the country is no better off than it was in 2021. For many, their lives are much worse. And only since last month, many fear we are on the verge of global war.
Now, a former Obama adviser and CNN contributor is giving Biden the bad news. He might count on Trump hate to get him votes, but that won’t cut it for this critical voting bloc.

CNN Political Commentator and former Obama adviser Van Jones stated that he is very worried about the level of enthusiasm among black voters for President Joe Biden…“… And I also think that people think black people are going to be single-issue voters, we don’t like Donald Trump. I don’t think that’s smart. There might be some black single-issue anti-Trump voters, but you’ve also got people who are having a problem filling up their gas tank and they’ve got other stuff that they’re concerned about.”
Van Jones warned Biden that he could be losing black voters, given his failure to make good on issues they care about. The CNN contributor hit Biden over not addressing the issues that brought black voters to the polls in 2020.
He mentioned George Floyd, police reform, criminal justice reform, and “John Lewis civil rights” as issues that weighed heavy on black voters’ minds. Yet he blasted Biden by saying, “nothing has gotten done on the black card.”
In 2020, Biden bragged about the support he expected from black voters. He claimed that folks who wouldn’t vote for him “ain’t black.” Jones is saying Biden’s done “nothing” to help black Americans.
He added that despite some voters supporting Biden because they hate Trump, that won’t be enough for others. The pundit pointed out that people are “having trouble filling up their gas tank.” Biden’s failures on the economy have hurt black workers, the same as everyone else.
Biden’s aggressive environmental agenda has hampered the economy. His tax breaks and moves to force Americans to buy EVs have not helped black Americans. It is possible many black voters feel left behind by a man who vowed to help them.
