J.D. Vance Scores Another Big Win – Book Just Hit the Bestseller List Again

Some people scratched their heads when Trump picked Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance as his running mate. Pundits expected him to pick a woman, a moderate, or even someone outside the Republican Party. Instead, he picked someone who previously criticized his presidency—someone from a swing state that is likely to go for him anyway.

Why did Trump do that? A few keen observers, like Tucker Carlson, seemed to understand Trump’s strategy.

J.D. Vance has a long history of success, in the military, tech world, and then politics. But he wasn’t always a success. Vance chronicled his story in a book, “Hillbilly Elegy.” The popular book was made into a movie, long before he became Trump’s running mate. It seems Vance was one of the smartest people Trump could have picked. And soon after Trump made the announcement, Vance’s book hit a big milestone.

From The Post Millennial:
Vice presidential nominee and US Senator JD Vance’s book “Hillbilly Elegy” has hit the top spot on the New York Times Bestseller’s list for non-fiction. The book, which chronicles Vance’s path through a hard childhood, growing up in the small town of Middletown, Ohio, has sold over 750,000 copies since Vance was announced as Trump’s VP pick.

According to the New York Times, since July 15, the sales on the book have skyrocketed in the United States…

The book details Vance’s rough childhood and relates it to the white working class in America, many of which live in what some on the coasts refer to as the “flyover states.”

A Rag to Riches Hero

Although out for years, Vance’s memoir Hillbilly Elegy hit the New York Times bestseller list in the weeks that followed Trump naming him his running mate. Not only did it hit the list, it became number one. The book details his struggles growing up in a small town in Ohio. He goes into how he overcame the cultural norms of broken families, drugs, and other misfortunes of working-class white families. The book has been praised by many Americans.

Vance, in fact, reflects a huge group of Americans that have been forgotten by the liberal elite: poor working white families. Democrats jump up and down praising black Americans and minorities. Ironically, they do nothing to help these people. But at least they spend lots of time talking about them. White working-class families, however, are totally ignored by the left. Democrats spread the lie that all white people are rich and privileged, to turn minorities against them.

The Forgotten Millions

Millions of working-class families lost everything when President Bill Clinton started shipping their jobs to China. Factories and companies in small towns all over America closed their doors, putting many out of work. In the generations that followed, small-town Americans were subject to poverty, despair, substance abuse, and worse. Democrats did nothing to help them, focusing tax dollars on inner-city minority groups.

J.D. Vance represents millions of Americans rejected and insulted by the liberal elite—the people Kamala Harris knows nothing about and has no intention of helping. Trump has clout with working Americans in big cities. Thanks to his success and know-how, he can connect with business leaders. But Vance can appeal to people who might believe Trump doesn’t know much about them. The success of Vance’s book is a huge boon to the campaign. Hundreds of thousands of new readers will get a look into Vance’s background.

That can only help the campaign, as Harris pushes to help globalists, socialists, and everyone else but working white Americans.

Key Takeaways:

  • J.D. Vance’s book Hillbilly Elegy hit number one on the NYT’s bestseller list.
  • This came just weeks after Trump made him his VP running mate.
  • Vance’s book speaks to the millions of forgotten white working-class Americans.
