After Biden Denies Aid to Florida Hurricane Victims – First Lady DeSantis Announces They Just Raised $60 Million

What’s Happening:

Hurricane Ian was one of the most powerful storms to hit Florida in decades. The massive storm left many communities devastated. Homes, businesses, schools, and more were flattened. The federal government provided some relief. Joe even flew down to make a few photo ops.

But when the state requested aid to rebuild, Biden’s FEMA shut them down. Gov. Ron DeSantis vowed to help his people, despite Biden’s rejection. And his wife, Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis, just unveiled this amazing news.

From Breitbart:

The Florida Disaster Relief Fund, headed up by Florida’s first lady Casey DeSantis as Hurricane Ian barreled down on the peninsula, has raised $60 million, she announced this week…

This up from the $20 million initially raised in the onset of the disaster fund’s activation…

Earlier this month, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced that President Biden’s FEMA initially denied the state’s funding request in the aftermath of the major Category 4 storm, prompting the state to step in and fill the gap.

Biden refused to provide funding for hurricane victims in Florida. Keep in mind, Biden has dished out $40 billion to Ukraine (and more on the way). And he has pledged billions to other countries overseas. But he refused to help American citizens who lost their homes through no fault of their own.

DeSantis pledged to keep providing support for Florida residents slammed by Hurricane Ian. And his wife recently accounted they raised $60 million for the Florida Disaster Relief Fund. The governor and his wife drew in support from numerous private companies, once again proving that private business does a better job than the government… at everything.

Those companies include ABC Fine Wine and Spirits, AirBnB, Boeing, Amazon, CVS, Florida Blue, PGA Tour, Publix, Rumble, Verizon, Walmart, Wawa, and others. Noticeably missing from the list (which can be seen here) was the Walt Disney Company, which has profited off of Florida for decades.

After the FEMA snub, DeSantis slammed the federal government. He said that his team could meet the need “quicker and more efficiently” than Biden’s bloated agencies. And it seems like he was right.

Rebuilding after a hurricane is a slow and costly process. Victims will need every last cent to help them restore their lives. And thanks to the DeSantis family, many of them will.

Key Takeaways:

  • Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis announced the FDRF raised $60 million.
  • This comes after Biden’s FEMA refused to provide funds for hurricane victims.
  • DeSantis raised support from numerous private companies, including Amazon and Walmart.
