While most of Hollywood has cheered for cancel culture, the average American is sick of it. You shouldn’t be able to destroy someone’s life just by throwing out accusations in public.
But that’s exactly what we have seen happen endlessly, and it’s often targeted at conservatives.
Well, one famous Hollywood actress is sick and tired of the injustice, and she is speaking about strongly against it. From Fox News:
“I’m so over cancel culture,” Aniston told WSJ. Magazine. “I probably just got canceled by saying that. I just don’t understand what it means. … Is there no redemption? I don’t know. I don’t put everybody in the Harvey Weinstein basket.”
Aniston, who recently found herself in the middle of Jamie Foxx’s antisemitic controversy, doesn’t have any stories similar to the women who came forward against Weinstein years ago, but the actress remembers what it was like to spend time with the producer.
Some strong words from Jennifer Aniston! She is one of the millenial generation’s favorite actresses, having starred in Friends and continuing a successful career in comedies and even a few serious roles.
And she has had enough. These words may have been in response to her recent comments about Jamie Foxx, though. Foxx posted a message that was taken as anti-semitic, though he later apologized while saying he did not mean that in any way, only that he felt betrayed by a friend in the same way Christ had been betrayed by the Jews.
Aniston responded to Foxx by saying his comments made her “sick” and she does not support any form of anti-semitism.
So maybe these comments were meant to smooth over this situation. But more likely, she is seeing the effects of cancel culture and she’s done with it. In the past, Jennifer has been open and made other comments about how unreasonable our culture has become.
Hopefully more leaders in our culture will agree that public figures should not be quick to punish or cancel others in order to conform to the Left’s ever-changing mores.
