Days After Liberals Predict Woke “Threads” to Kill Twitter – They Just Got a Stunning Report

What’s Happening:

It’s no secret that many on the left have come to hate Twitter. Once upon a time, it was their go-to social network for spreading their propaganda. This was especially true since Twitter’s overlords let them say whatever they wanted and censored anyone who disagreed.

But when Elon Musk bought the social network, liberals had a meltdown. Not only did Musk restore free speech to the platform, but he exposed how the previous executives colluded with Democrats in the government to shut down conservatives. It seems Meta decided to create an alternative to Twitter. Liberals claimed “Threads” would quickly overtake the Blue Bird. Guess what?

From The Post Millennial:

Within 48 hours of launching on July 5, Mark Zuckerberg’s Threads managed to bring in 100 million users, making it the fastest growing application in history. The initial fanfare was short-lived, however, and Meta’s “Twitter alternative” has been on a downward spiral ever since…

According to Similarweb, Threads had more than 49 million active daily users on its busiest day, July 7, but by the following Friday, that number had dipped to just 23.6 million. Time spent also decreased from 20 minutes to five minutes over that same time period.

After becoming the most downloaded social app in history, it appears “Threads” is quickly collapsing. According to reports, activity on the new social network is down by 50 percent. That’s death for a social network.

Usually, these apps see a surge early on as people try out something new. But there needs to be a reason to keep coming back. It seems Threads was like a liberal version of Gab or TRUTH Social. Leftists jumped on there, hoping they could return to bashing Trump and spreading socialist talking points.

But it seems that if you make an app that only appeals to liberals, nobody wants to use it! Not even those liberals, it seems.

Twitter saw a dip in usage the week Threads launched. But according to reports, it has rebounded and continues to “dominate the social media arena.” This is probably thanks to Musk’s aggressive plans to add new features to the site while coming up with ways to help users monetize their content.

And Threads might be facing bigger challenges than that. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan sent a letter to Threads’ parent company, asking for details on the app’s policy on free speech and censorship.

Key Takeaways:

  • Social app touted as the “Twitter killer” has seen a dramatic drop in activity.
  • “Threads” attracted liberals who were triggered by Twitter’s free speech protections.
  • The social app has lost 50 percent of its user engagement after two weeks.
