Manchin Delivers Big 2024 Teaser – If He Does Run, It Might Not Be on a Democrat Ticket

What’s Happening:

If there’s one person Joe Biden hates in Washington, it has to be Sen. Joe Manchin. The West Virginia Democrat has frequently voted against Joe’s agenda. And Manchin’s swing vote has been key in shutting down some of Joe’s most terrible ideas. He helped Democrats out once and they stabbed him in the back.

It doesn’t seem like he’s going to make that mistake again.

Manchin is up for re-election in 2024. He will be running as a Democrat in a deeply conservative state. Already, Republicans have a strong candidate to run against him. Manchin might not be coming back to the Senate in 2025. But, he might have a plan that will make Democrats–and Joe Biden–hate him even more.

From The Washington Examiner:

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is keeping his 2024 decision close to the vest. While many speculate he will run for reelection in the Senate, the centrist Democrat is stirring rumors that he may opt to run for the White House — on a third-party ticket…

He said voters are sick of “this constant, daily routine of everyone’s against everybody and everybody’s fighting and arguing.”

“Let’s be for the country and get something done,” he said.

Rumors are floating that moderate Democrat Joe Manchin could run for president in 2024. But, if he does, he won’t do it as a Democrat, but as a third-party candidate. Manchin has spoken out against the divisive nature of both parties.

He might want to run as a “centrist” that can appeal to both conservatives and liberals.

This would be a big leap, to say the least. But if he does do it, it could spell doom for Joe Biden. Manchin is obviously more likely to draw liberal voters, given his history as a Democrat. If he does run as a third-party candidate, he would be taking many votes away from Biden himself.

Most diehard conservatives will stick with the Republican candidate. That would result in a major upset for Biden, paving the way for a Republican victory.

It’s all speculation at the moment. It would be a very big deal if Manchin ran. There are probably many Democrats urging him not to. But he is rarely the kind of person that blindly follows his party. He has defied them many times before.

Could he do it again–for a White House run?

Key Takeaways:

  • Rumors float that Sen. Joe Manchin will run for president in 2024.
  • Manchin could run as a third-party candidate, not a Democrat.
  • Manchin would take votes away from Joe Biden, making it impossible for him to win.
