Everyone is wondering what will come of the Senate’s impeachment trial.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve heard from House Democrats and Trump’s legal team. Both sides made their cases to the Senate.

A big question still lingering is this, will the Senate vote to bring up more witnesses and drag this thing out?

Senate Democrats are becoming more and more confident that witnesses will take the stand. Some seem to think that removing Trump from office is becoming a reality.

Well, Chuck Schumer and his friends won’t like what Mitch McConnell is up to now.

Republicans seem increasingly confident that at least 51 senators will vote Friday to prevent bringing additional witnesses into President Trump’s impeachment trial…

McConnell and Majority Whip John Thune… were confident they could still reach the magic number of 51 no-votes by the end of the week.

Uh-oh, Schumer! Word on the street is that McConnell is confident that the Senate will vote to block witnesses this Friday.

At the end of the opening arguments, it looked very likely that the Senate would simply vote to acquit Trump of all charges.

Then, conveniently, John Bolton apparently leaked a claim that he and the president discussed pressuring Ukraine. It’s hard not to believe this was timed in order to convince senators to vote for witnesses to take the stand.

Everyone started saying that a few moderate Republicans were about to vote in favor of bringing witnesses before the Senate.

But after a few more days of trial hearings, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

It looks like Mitch McConnell is getting more confident that he has the 51 votes to block witnesses.

This is pretty important, because I think we need to end this impeachment as soon as possible.

Many Americans believe this has been a sham from the beginning. Some suggest this impeachment was just an attempt by Democrats to hurt Trump’s re-election chances.

If that’s the case, they are only dragging witnesses into the Senate trial so it will last for many more weeks.

If McConnell gets 51 votes to block witnesses, then it’s safe to say they will soon vote on the charges.

We could be looking at a quick dismissal, with Trump’s name cleared.

Maybe, then, we can get back to helping the American people?
