Americans were not pleased when Joe Biden declared March 31st—which was the day Easter fell this year—as the White House’s “Transgender Day of Visibility.” Even Donald Trump called on the president to apologize for offending millions of religious Americans.
House Speaker Johnson called out Biden’s actions as one of many leaders upset with the “woke” decision by the White House. President Biden responded to Johnson’s criticism. But what he said was even more alarming.
From The Post Millennial:
“I didn’t do that,” Biden said in response to a question about his signing of the proclamation designating Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility.
Biden claimed he “didn’t do that,” when people asked him about making this year’s Easter the same day as “Transgender Day of Visibility.” He called Speaker Johnson, who rebuked the president for using the holy day to push a progressive cause, “uninformed.”
It’s unclear why Biden said this. He signed the proclamation on the Friday before. But the day mentioned in the statement was Easter Sunday. This answer has once again given rise to speculation over Biden’s role in his own administration.
From Daily Wire:
DeSantis responded to Biden’s denial remarks during a press conference on Monday…“Who’s running the presidency? Is it a bunch of woke, 20-something-year-old White House staffers?” DeSantis asked. “So I don’t know who’s in charge. The fact that he’s not owning up to it — either way, it’s bad.”
Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis blasted Biden’s response. He questioned if Biden is actually “running the presidency.” Biden’s response of “I didn’t do that,” could mean someone else—perhaps a “woke” staffer—signed the proclamation and posted the message on social media.
That seems far more likely than an 81-year-old Democrat telling trans people “I see you.” That sounds more like the lingo of a much younger, progressive person.
Speaker Johnson, however, pointed out that it is Joe Biden’s signature on the proclamation—making it unlikely he wasn’t involved at all. And Johnson is raising a pretty troubling possibility.
From Fox News:
“Well, it’s his own signature on the document. That’s why we posted it,” he said on “Hannity.” “The evidence speaks for itself, as we used to say in the courtroom.”“[I]t’s highly possible that he doesn’t even know what he’s signing,” he added. “[T]hat might be even more alarming.”
Speaker Johnson pointed out that the document states Biden made the proclamation and that he signed it personally. But for Joe to say “I didn’t do it,” could mean he isn’t cognizant enough to actually know what is going on.
Which could mean that woke progressives are running the country—without accountability or transparency from the American people.
Key Takeaways:
- Joe Biden said he “didn’t” make this year’s Easter Sunday the “Transgender Day of Visibility.”
- Republicans sounded the alarm over this statement.
- DeSantis asked who is actually running the presidency?
