Minutes After Second Assassination Attempt, Anti-Trumper Makes Disgusting Comment

The second assassination attempt on Donald Trump is a sobering reminder of the intense political climate we find ourselves in. It’s downright terrifying that we’ve reached a point where a former president is being targeted in this way—twice.

You’d think after the first attempt, folks might be a little more shaken up. Instead, the attacks keep coming. What is the reaction from some quarters? Mockery. It’s unbelievable that we’ve sunk this low. Political violence is never acceptable, and anyone with half a brain knows that. Yet, here we are.

Trump, ever the fighter, stood strong despite the threat. And while he didn’t back down, it’s troubling to see how some on the left reacted to this second attempt on his life. Not with shock or concern but with vile humor.

Enter Rachel Vindman, wife of the so-called “whistleblower” from Trump’s first impeachment, Alexander Vindman. She took to X (formerly Twitter) to crack a joke about Trump’s near-death experience, saying, “No ears were harmed. Carry on with your Sunday afternoon.” Are you kidding me? That’s the level of discourse we’re at now?

From The Post Millennial:
The wife of the army officer who appeared was the “whistleblower” in the first impeachment of President Donald Trump, who revealed the details of a phone call between Donald Trump and Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky, has mocked the second assassination attempt on Trump’s life, saying “No ears were harmed. Carry on with your Sunday afternoon,” Rachel Vindman, the wife of Alexander Vindman and a USA Today political columnist, wrote on X in a post. That post was later deleted.

Rachel Vindman’s tasteless joke was quickly deleted, but not before it sparked outrage. Chris LaCivita, a Republican strategist and Trump adviser, didn’t mince words. He demanded that her husband condemn the remark. In true Vindman fashion, though, things took a twist. Alexander Vindman, apparently confused, shot back angrily, condemning LaCivita instead. He threw every insult imaginable, accusing the Trump camp of inciting violence while entirely ignoring his wife’s comment. It’s almost as if he didn’t read the room—his wife was the one making light of an assassination attempt.

The irony here is just too rich. The man who tried to build a reputation off accusing Trump of wrongdoings is now defending tasteless jokes about violence. And instead of addressing the issue at hand, Alexander Vindman threw a tantrum on X, blaming Trump and his supporters for the very violence directed at the former president. Let’s be clear—no one should be joking about political violence, especially not someone whose family is at the center of political controversy.

Even Eugene Vindman, Alexander’s brother and the real candidate for Virginia’s 7th Congressional District, chimed in. But his response was a far cry from Rachel’s mockery. He expressed his concern over the violence, thanking law enforcement for their swift action. It’s refreshing to see at least one Vindman has the decency to acknowledge how serious these events are. But even Eugene’s measured response didn’t stop the flood of criticism aimed at Rachel. And frankly, she deserved every bit of it.

Conservatives, led by figures like Hugh Hewitt, Mike Lawler, and Mike Waltz, tore into Rachel Vindman for her insensitivity. As they rightly pointed out, this is what’s wrong with our politics today. When did it become okay to make jokes about assassination attempts? Rep. Lawler hit the nail on the head—this isn’t just a bad look for Rachel, it’s a reflection of the broader Vindman family, especially with Eugene running for Congress. Voters are watching, and this kind of behavior isn’t going to win anyone any favors.

Rachel Vindman didn’t back down either. After deleting her first post, she followed up with a second, sarcastic quip. “Sorry you’re triggered. I mean no I’m not. I don’t care a little bit,” she wrote. Classy.

Real classy. This is where we are, folks—people openly mocking attempted assassinations while running for Congress and then doubling down when called out. And the left wonders why the country feels so divided.

Key Takeaways:

  • A second assassination attempt on Trump’s life was met with mockery from Rachel Vindman, wife of Alexander Vindman.
  • Conservatives called out her insensitivity, with many asking if this reflects the views of the entire Vindman family.
  • Alexander Vindman’s response ignored the issue and attacked Trump supporters, while his brother Eugene took a more measured tone.
