Five NFL Teams that Honored George Floyd Decline Moment of Silence for Charlie Kirk

Do you remember when Sunday football was just… football? It was a time when you could sit down, cheer for your team, and forget about politics for a few hours. It was a simple American tradition. Simple as that.

Well, those days are over. The modern NFL has turned the game into another battlefield for the culture wars. The sanctuary of Sunday is gone. Now, the league wants to lecture you. It has made it painfully clear which values it supports and which it despises.

From Breitbart:

With Week 2 of the NFL winding down, five home teams refused to sponsor a moment of silence for murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk, even though each of them held memorials, made statements, and donated money in honor of convicted drug user George Floyd…

Each of these teams held moments of silence or other memorials for convicted criminal and drug addict George Floyd back in 2020.

The Ravens participated in what was called a National Day of Mourning in June of 2020.
The Bengals locked arms in solidarity against supposed “racial injustice.”
The Detroit Lions released a statement honoring George Floyd and had multiple events in his name.
The Colts also made statements, donated money, and held events in honor of Floyd.
The Vikings created scholarships in Floyd’s name, invited Floyd’s family to opening day, and multiple Vikings players had team-sponsored visits to the George Floyd memorial.

So what happened last weekend? I’ll tell you. Teams had the chance to hold a simple moment of silence for Charlie Kirk, the conservative leader who was brutally murdered. And five teams brazenly refused. I mean, they went out of their way to do nothing.

The hypocrisy is just stunning. As Breitbart News reported, the very teams that ignored Kirk have a long history of celebrating figures adored by the radical left.

Their Priorities Are Clear

Let’s name names, shall we? The teams that snubbed a murdered patriot were the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Indianapolis Colts, and Minnesota Vikings. You’ll notice a pattern here. Back in 2020, these same teams couldn’t wait to honor George Floyd. The Ravens held a “Day of Mourning.” The Vikings created scholarships in his name. The others fell all over themselves to release statements and donate money.

Think about that. For a career criminal, they roll out the red carpet. For a conservative hero? They can’t even be bothered. This isn’t just a mistake. It’s a message about who they think matters, and who doesn’t.

Flimsy Excuses and a Spineless League

And their excuses? Please. You can’t make this stuff up. The Colts said they were already honoring someone else. The Vikings claimed they were busy with another memorial. Do they really think you’re that stupid? It’s a transparent attempt to cover for a decision based purely on politics.

Even worse was the league’s response. The NFL office, in an amazing act of cowardice, just washed its hands of the whole thing. They said it was “up to the clubs.” This is the same league that paints political slogans in the end zones. But when it came time to stand up for a conservative voice, they ran for cover.

A Tale of Two Leagues

Now, it wasn’t all bad. Some teams still have a spine. The Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Tennessee Titans did the right thing. They held a moment of silence because it was the decent thing to do. They haven’t forgotten about their fans.

But this split shows you everything you need to know. There are two Americas now, and the divide runs right down the 50-yard line. On one side, you have teams that respect tradition and patriotism. On the other, you have fans like those in New Orleans, who actually booed when Kirk’s picture appeared on the screen. And that, right there, is the other side. Full of hate, with no respect.

So what’s the bottom line? This was never about a moment of silence. It was a test. The NFL and five of its teams showed you who they are. The only thing left to do is believe them.

Key Takeaways

  • Five NFL teams honored a career criminal but refused to honor a murdered patriot.
  • Woke corporate priorities now outweigh respect for traditional American values.
  • The NFL’s leadership showed cowardice by refusing to take a principled stand.
  • The league is now a clear battleground between patriotic fans and the radical left.
