After Top NFL Legend Endorses Trump – He Says Family Will ‘Never Vote Democrat Again’

A man known for his gridiron grit stepped onto the world stage to endorse former President Donald Trump. The show of support happened during a Trump campaign rally over the weekend. In Wildwood, New Jersey.

What is dynamic about this endorsement is it reveals what is happening among a key voting bloc that Democrats have depended on to win elections. More people of color are stepping out and exclaiming their new-found support of Trump while dumping the Democratic Party.

The leftist grip on the Black vote is slipping as more supporters have pledged their support for Trump. National Football League linebacker Lawrence Taylor proudly stated his support of the former president after the two shared a hug onstage during the rally.

From The Daily Wire:
“I just wanted to say I grew up a Democrat and I’ve always been a Democrat until I met this man right here,” Taylor told the crowd, referring to Trump. “And I tell you what, he will not have to worry nobody in my family ever voting for a Democrat again.”

That’s a bold statement of support from the legendary football player who spent 12 years with the New York Giants and won two Super Bowls there. NFL running back Ottis Anderson, who played for the Giants, also stepped up to the podium and commented on the crowd enthusiasm. Chants of “U.S.A” broke out as the two walked off the stage with Trump complimenting them as “two great guys.”

A Wildwood spokesperson said up to 100,000 people attended the rally. Trump said this was a show of momentum that could change the electoral map this November by placing New Jersey in play for a Trump win.

As the show of support unfolded during the rally, it highlighted a statement from Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) who pointed out an apparent shift among black voters. Scott has suggested that “four out of 10 black men” want to vote for the Republican Party and the number of black women interested in voting for the GOP has doubled.

The shift in sentiment among black voters is apparently growing stronger as the election moves closer to November. A Wall Street Journal poll last month found 30% of black voters were planning to probably or definitely vote for Trump over Biden. This is an unprecedented swing from the 2020 election where Biden overwhelmingly took 92% of the black vote.

Black voters accounted for 13.5% of all eligible voters in 2020 and that number is expected to reach 14% in the 2024 election. If even 20% of black voters shift to Trump for the presidential election, it could spell disaster for Biden in the fall.

Key Takeaways:

  • NFL legend Lawrence Taylor endorsed Trump and said his family will never again vote Democrat.
  • The legendary linebacker was joined on stage with his former teammate Ottis Anderson.
  • Tim Scott said there is a shift among black voters with larger numbers turning to Trump.
