NYPD Officers Threaten Mass Exodus if Socialist Candidate Mamdani Wins Mayoral Race

America’s cities face big safety problems. From one coast to the other, places that used to be safe now feel dangerous as crime goes up and down. When people who hate the police get power, bad things happen. It hurts the brave men and women who risk their lives to keep us safe.

What happens when police officers decide they just can’t do their jobs anymore? This isn’t just a made-up question for New Yorkers as they get ready to vote for a new mayor.

NYPD officers are sending a clear message about socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani: If he wins in November, many will quit their jobs. After winning the Democratic primary, Mamdani now leads the race against Mayor Eric Adams and Republican Curtis Sliwa.

From ‘The Post Millennial’:

Veteran law enforcement officials in New York City are raising serious concerns about Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, warning that his past rhetoric against the police and his current proposals could lead to a wave of officer resignations and a sharp decline in public safety…

“I’ve had guys call me and say ‘If he wins, I’m quitting,’” one police source told the outlet. “It’s just weird that New York City would vote for him. I know he’s not here for the police.”

This warning comes as New York City is safer now. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch has helped cut major crimes by 5% from last year and 8% since 2019. All this progress could go away if good officers leave.

Socialist Policies Put Public at Risk

Mamdani wants to do things that would make the city less safe. He wants to make a new Department of Community Safety separate from the NYPD. He wants to stop working with ICE. He wants to make drug possession legal. He wants to set up places where people can use drugs under watch. Unlike other candidates, he doesn’t want to hire more police.

Scott Munro, who leads the NYPD Detectives’ group, said it clearly: “The city would be totally unsafe for people who live here. If you put a guy like him in charge, our people are going to get hurt, and nobody will want the job.”

Curtis Sliwa, who is running against Mamdani, said the socialist wants to “neuter the Police Department” and turn officers into social workers. “He has a weird idea of how policing should be, like it should be people like Gandhi walking around as social workers. That does not work,” Sliwa said.

Anti-Police Rhetoric Has Consequences

Mamdani has said many bad things about police in the past. In 2020, he tweeted that “the NYPD is racist, anti-queer & a major threat to public safety” and said “queer liberation means defund the police.”

Now during his campaign, he tries to sound more normal by saying police “have a critical role to play.” But many officers don’t believe his sudden change of heart.

A police officer with almost 20 years on the job said, “This guy thinks the entire NYPD is racist. I think right now the department is more diverse than ever before. This guy has never even stepped foot in a police station. He has no clue what today’s police department is like.”

Rules for Thee, But Not for Me

The most telling thing is how Mamdani acts like a hypocrite. While running on an anti-police platform, he has police officers protecting him all the time.

A longtime NYPD detective called this out: “You have police protecting you, but you don’t want to protect the people of New York City?”

Voters must think about what matters most when they vote—the safety of their families and communities, or risky ideas that put everyone in danger. Supporting our police means supporting safe neighborhoods where businesses can grow and children can play without fear.

The men and women of the NYPD deserve leaders who respect them—not someone who has spent years attacking their important work. New York voters must reject Mamdani if they want to keep their city safe.
