President Trump Fires Back At NYT Tax Report – Donald Just Claimed It Is All ‘Made Up’ And He Has Impressive Financial Statements

What’s Happening:

The New York Times released an article over the weekend, claiming they received Trump’s taxes.

The so-called bombshell report claimed Trump paid very few taxes in recent years.

It also suggested that he has struggled financially.

Also interesting to note, that although the Times was looking for it, they found no evidence Trump worked with Russia or did anything illegal.

But Trump quickly fought back, claiming the documents were illegally obtained and much more:

President Trump lambasted a New York Times report that said he paid no federal income taxes for 10 of the past 15 years, calling the story “fake news” and arguing that he paid large federal and state taxes.

“Its fake news, it’s totally made up,” Trump said Sunday during a press briefing less than an hour after the story broke in the newspaper. “Everything was wrong, they are so bad.”

And here’s what Trump said on Twitter:

The Fake News Media, just like Election time 2016, is bringing up my Taxes & all sorts of other nonsense with illegally obtained information & only bad intent. I paid many millions of dollars in taxes but was entitled, like everyone else, to depreciation & tax credits…

The media made a big deal over Trump’s taxes in 2016—but it didn’t stop Americans from electing them.

This time, the NYT claims to have acquired Trump’s tax documents. If true, they illegally obtained them, since a citizen’s tax documents are confidential.

The IRS is not allowed to release those documents to others. So, either the Times broke the law or someone in the IRS broke the law.

(If the documents are even real to begin with.)

President Trump slammed the report as “fake news,” explained he has paid many millions to the federal government over the years.

On top of that, any allegations that he has not paid his taxes were only the result of “depreciation” and “tax credits.” The same kinds of tax credits many Americans are able to use.

The Times appears to be suggesting that Donald Trump is not allowed to use the same tax laws and rules as anyone else.

The Times also was forced to admit that they found no evidence Trump received money from Russia—a claim many on the left keep pushing.

And nothing in their report suggests Trump has at any time broken the law.

So, what is the point of this “bombshell” after all?

Are Americans really concerned about how much tax Trump has paid over years? Or are they more concerned with how Trump (or Biden) will lead in the White House?

It seems only those who already were against Trump appear to care so much about his taxes. Any rules he used to lower his tax bills would be the same rules the liberal elite use as well.

Is this a case of hypocrisy?

Key Takeaways:

  • The Times accused Trump of not paying enough taxes, citing documents illegal obtained by the IRS.
  • Trump slammed much of the report as fake news, accusing the NYT of misrepresenting the facts.
  • Americans voted for Trump, regardless of his tax records, in 2016.
