How many times have we heard from the mainstream media that illegal immigration is simply a humanitarian issue, that those crossing our borders are just families seeking better lives? I’m exhausted by it. For years, Americans expressing concerns about crime linked to illegal immigration have been dismissed as fearful or worse, racist. The narrative pushed relentlessly suggests that illegal aliens commit fewer crimes than citizens, that our communities have nothing to worry about.

Yet time and again, when federal law enforcement is actually allowed to do their jobs, a very different picture emerges. The disconnect between what the media tells us and what’s happening in our neighborhoods has never been more stark. And now, a major operation in one of America’s fastest-growing cities has produced numbers that should make every journalist who minimized this threat question their reporting. (Spoiler: they won’t.)

From ‘Breitbart’:

In just a few short weeks, a Border Patrol-led task force arrested more than 400 illegal aliens in Charlotte, North Carolina. According to Border Patrol Commander Greg K. Bovino, illegal aliens targeted and arrested during “Operation Charlotte’s Web” were found to be in the company of others who also had a significant criminal history in more than 50 percent of all cases. Breitbart Texas spoke to Chief Bovino on Monday about the number of arrests since the operation began on November 15.

The Shocking Reality

This isn’t a year-long investigation or a decade of data. In mere weeks, over 400 criminal aliens were arrested in Charlotte alone. But here’s what should alarm every American: when Border Patrol went after known criminals, they discovered that more than half of the other illegals they encountered also had extensive criminal records. On one November day, that figure reached 67 percent.

Commander Bovino didn’t mince words about what his agents are finding: “We are going after the worst of the worst in Charlotte. If you are in the company of an illegal alien on our target list and are here illegally as well, there are no free passes.” This isn’t about breaking up families or targeting workers. This is about hardened criminals who’ve been operating with impunity. (But sure, tell me again how these are all just hardworking families.)

The operation has netted MS-13 gang members and 18th Street gang members “moving freely on the streets of Charlotte,” according to Bovino. One Honduran national arrested admitted to being a member of MS-13 — which the government classifies as a foreign terrorist organization — and had a rap sheet including larceny, receiving stolen goods, battery, and assault. Another criminal from Belize had been terrorizing Charlotte residents since 2015 with vehicle break-ins, home invasions, and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Community Impact

Charlotte, North Carolina’s most populous city with nearly one million residents, has been transformed into a hunting ground for criminal aliens, many drawn there by sanctuary policies that promised protection from immigration enforcement. (How’s that working out for you, Charlotte?) But residents are now seeing a different reality unfold. According to Bovino, “Many residents I have spoken with say they are thankful for our presence and that they are happy we are in their city.”

Imagine that — actual Americans grateful that someone’s finally doing something about the criminals in their midst.

The collaboration between Border Patrol and ICE has been particularly effective, with the joint effort nearly doubling the arrest numbers. Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin emphasized the human cost of allowing these criminals to operate freely: “Americans should be able to live without fear of violent criminal illegal aliens hurting them, their families, or their neighbors.”

What makes this operation particularly significant is that it’s far from over. Chief Bovino made clear that Operation Charlotte’s Web is ongoing, warning, “We are not done in any city we have visited yet, so long as there is work to do, we are likely to appear once again at any moment.”

The removal of more than 400 criminal aliens will, in Bovino’s words, “absolutely affect crime” in Charlotte. This isn’t speculation or political rhetoric — it’s mathematical reality. When you remove hundreds of people with serious criminal histories from a city’s streets, that city becomes safer. Period.

Key Takeaways

• Border Patrol arrested 400+ illegal aliens in Charlotte with over half having criminal records
• MS-13 and 18th Street gang members were operating freely before Operation Charlotte’s Web
• Residents are thanking law enforcement for making their neighborhoods safer again
• This operation proves the media has been dangerously wrong about criminal aliens
