As usual, Nancy Pelosi appears to be taking the low road.
During a recent press conference, President Trump informed the country he was taking preventative measures to stay safe. Under the supervision of the White House doctor, he has been taking HCQ for at least a week.
How did Pelosi respond? Did she praise the president for protecting himself? Not quite. She turned the news into a stunning personal attack.
From Fox News:
“…I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists, especially in his age group and in his, shall we say, weight group — what is it, morbidly obese they say. So I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Pelosi told CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.
Wow, talk about ugly. Pelosi took a potshot at the president, calling him “morbidly obese.” What? There are so many important issues to talk about and this woman is calling Trump fat?
And not just fat, but morbidly fat? Come on, Nance. Aren’t you better than that?
But is Trump technically “morbidly obese”? Not even CNN can back up her attack.
How large would you need to be to qualify as having “severe” or “morbid” obesity? According to this BMI calculator, a 6 foot tall man weighing 300 pounds would have a BMI of 41 — and would be considered in a state of “morbid” obesity.
Which is not Donald Trump, at least according to the White House physician.
Yikes. When CNN needs to fact-check you about the president, you know you’ve really gone off the rails!
CNN admits that according to WebMD and other sources, “morbid” obesity describes someone that has a BMI of 41.
According to the White House doctor, Trump’s BMI is 30.4. Which means that even CNN had to debunk Pelosi’s petty jab.
Pelosi thought she was pretty clever, slipping in that insult. But it doesn’t change the fact that she is trying to distract from her own performance during the crisis.
Trump has been working around the clock to save the country. Nance? She’s been pushing massive spending bills. When she’s not slamming the president’s weight.
Listen, Trump’s not shy about throwing a few jabs at his rivals. Normally, he’s closer to the truth, though. And he’s much more clever about it.
Pelosi should be pretty careful, though, about insulting someone’s weight or appearance.
Something tells me Trump would have plenty to say about this woman. Namely, her Botox.
SHARE to make sure Nancy Pelosi doesn’t get away with this.
