After Police Search Sam Brinton’s Home – They Uncover Exactly What They Were Looking For

What’s Happening:

A Tanzanian fashion designer received some great news after police searched the home of disgraced ex-Department of Energy (DOE) official Sam Brinton’s home. Brinton has been a subject in the news after he allegedly stole bags from an airport while he served in Joe Biden’s administration.

Designer Asya Khamsin has followed the case and previously reported that she believed Brinton publicly wore clothing she designed. She reported to police that the alleged clothes were in a bag that went missing at Ronald Reagan National Airport years ago.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) Police Department executed a search warrant in May at Brinton’s Maryland residence in connection with the case. Police confirmed they returned articles of clothing belonging to Khamsin after the search and the matter is under investigation for prosecution.

From Fox News:

Weeks after the search warrant was executed, Brinton was charged with felony grand larceny of items worth more than $1,000. The preliminary hearing in the case, which was filed in Arlington General District Court, has been delayed until December.

Khamsin told Fox earlier this year that she suspected Brinton was wearing clothes with her designs after seeing photographs of Brinton in news articles. Khamsin added she packed the same clothes in a bag that vanished at the airport on March 9, 2018.

She originally reported, according to Fox News, the missing bag but reports with MWAA and the airline didn’t lead anywhere. The news photographs of Brinton and the clothing designs tipped her off to pursue police help.

“I saw the images,” Khamsin said. “Those were my custom designs, which were lost in that bag in 2018. He wore my clothes, which was stolen.”

Brinton has allegedly stolen luggage from different airport baggage carousels and was charged in connection with incidents in Minnesota and Nevada. He faced years in jail but in two separate cases the judges ruled jail time wasn’t necessary.

Brinton was appointed under Biden to a position that oversees nuclear waste policy at the DOE Office of Nuclear Energy. Mainstream media covered his appointment because he is a non-binary gender-fluid person. Last December the DOE announced that Brinton had left the agency but wouldn’t comment on the reason for the departure.

Khamsin is pursuing a civil lawsuit related to the theft against Brinton as of Friday.
