RNC Chair McDaniel Is in Deep Trouble – Her Challenger Just Landed Top Endorsement, Ronna Loses Texas and Arizona

What’s Happening:

For many years, the Republican Nation Committee has been run by Ronna McDaniel. And since she’s led the organization, the party has failed to win every major election. She failed to secure the 2018 midterms, the 2020 Presidential Election, and the 2022 midterms.

Now, have been raised to replace this figurehead with someone who can actually win for the GOP. A rival emerged in the form of Harmeet Dhillon, a lawyer and advocate. The battle has yet to rage fully, but already McDaniel is in deep trouble.

From Just the News:

Over the weekend, Dhillon got the backing of longtime RNC member Morton Blackwell, founder of the conservative training group The Leadership Institute…

Several state RNC groups have expressed frustration with the RNC under McDaniel, who was President Trump’s pick after getting elected in 2016…

The Texas Republican Party recently joined the Arizona Republican Party in expressing no confidence in McDaniel and calling for new leadership.

“Clearly, the grassroots think it’s time for a change,” the Arizona group tweeted.

This isn’t good for McDaniel. After a string of failures, it makes sense that the party should look for new leadership. And her rival just scored a big endorsement from conservative figure Morton Blackwell.

Meanwhile, Republicans in Texas and Arizona have dropped support for McDaniel. Another Republican from Tennessee, Beth Campbell, revealed that she discussed with RNC committee member Oscar Brock “leadership change.”

There is “overwhelming” support for the party to find someone new for the chair. The head of the RNC is responsible for fundraising and other critical efforts during election time. So, there are legitimate questions about why the party’s lost critical races in the years since 2016.

Some might blame Trump or others. But it could be that McDaniel will be one of several scapegoats, as we get closer to the 2024 Election.

Key Takeaways:

  • Support is growing for Dhillon, who is challenging McDaniel for the RNC chair.
  • McDaniel has been head of the RNC since 2017 and lost every race since then.
  • Prominent conservatives have endorsed Dhillon.
  • Texas and Arizona have dropped their support for McDaniel.
