What’s Happening:
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has risen in popularity among FL residents and Republicans around the country.
This brash, unapologetic conservative has gone toe-to-toe with the Biden administration and the leftist establishment.
And, in Trump-life fashion, this possible 2024 contender called out Biden for record-high gas prices.
From Twitter:

DeSantis brutally FLAMES Joe Brandon over record-high gas prices
“They’re the CAUSE of a lot of it. He has made it WAY WORSE— He’s going to plunge this country into a RECESSION.”
DeSantis ripped the wool off America’s eyes by calling out Joe Biden over the gas crisis.
He said our country was “energy independent” for the first time in his lifetime. But Biden “went to war” with American energy when he entered office.
The Florida governor blamed Biden for passing regulations that hampered American companies’ ability to produce oil and gas.
And DeSantis said Biden made a global industry “way worse,” thanks to his leftist policies. He even warned that if nothing happens, Biden’s going to “plunge this country into a recession.”
What’s so startling is that Biden knows his policies are what got us here. But neither he nor anyone within his administration is willing to admit it.
On top of that, they are unwilling to reverse those policies, to bring energy prices down.
And all this, on the eve of a major midterm season that will decide the makeup of Congress.
DeSantis’ comments are more significant when you factor his rising popularity among the GOP.
After Trump, he is the highest-polling Republican for the 2024 candidacy. In some recent polls, he even beat Trump by a few points.
Is DeSantis building a case against Biden, that he’ll use for a 2024 campaign? We can’t be sure.
But we’ll find out soon enough.
Key Takeaways:
- DeSantis blamed Joe Biden for the gas price crisis.
- He accused Biden of making the situation way worse, through strict executive orders.
- DeSantis warned that Biden will “plunge this country into a recession.”
