It seems as if Democrats in blue states are going out of their way to encourage crime. They eliminate cash bail, put criminals back on the streets, and even ensure shoplifting and other felonies aren’t even prosecuted.
But not so in the Sunshine State. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is making it very clear that crime will be punished in his state. Not long ago, he recruited police who were leaving blue states, rewarding them with bonuses if they came to Florida. And now, he is making sure criminal scum who target children will face severe penalties.
DeSantis announces harsher penalties for fentanyl. It will now be "a first-degree felony to possess, sell, or manufacture fentanyl or other controlled substances to look like candy."

It’s hard to imagine it, but drug pushes do in fact make drugs look like candy. Fentanyl is a synthetic narcotic that is extremely deadly. Just a small dose can kill an adult. And these criminal thugs are making this poison look like candy, so they can sell it to children.
Gov. DeSantis is having none of it. He just announced the state of Florida will enact harsh penalties for anyone that sells this and other drugs to minors. Even possessing these drugs that look like candy will land you in jail.
The punishment can be as high as a life sentence in jail a one million dollars in fines. Sound too harsh? These people are trying to sell the most deadly drug ever made… to children. Drug pushers know fentanyl kills. Yet they are not only selling it to adults but making it attractive to children.
These people won’t stop this, because we ask them to. We need strong penalties so these monsters will think twice about trying to poison our children. And if any of them are stupid enough to keep doing it, they will face a terrible punishment.
The rest of the country should pay attention. Especially blue states, which seem to think criminals deserve to be free on the streets. The only way we are going to end this crime epidemic is if we punish criminals.
