Socialism 2026 Conference Kicks Off in Chicago Featuring Marxism Classes, Anti-Israel Panels, and DSA Endorsement

Chicago has seen a lot come and go – the World’s Fair, Al Capone, a functioning city budget. This weekend, it’s hosting something arguably more destructive than all three.

A four-day gathering is descending on the Windy City, and its organizers aren’t even pretending to hide what they’re about. The conference website proudly declares it’s the place for “seasoned radicals and new activists to sharpen analysis, hone strategy, and build community.” Their words, not mine. Not sharpen job skills. Not build businesses. Sharpen radical analysis.

The event promises to “bring together activists, organizers, and communities” from across the country and around the world. Sounds almost wholesome until you look at the schedule.

Welcome to the Socialism 2026 Conference, where for the low price of $155 – payable in good old American dollars, naturally – attendees can immerse themselves in a “Marxism Education Series,” attend workshops on “Fighting Fascism,” and sit through an anti-Israel session called “Confronting Zionism: Decolonizing Palestine and Building the World Anew.” That’s not a conference agenda. That’s a revolutionary’s wish list.

The company they keep

Among the featured speakers is far-left internet commentator Hasan Piker, a man so enamored with Chinese dictator Mao Zedong that he showed up to a public event in July wearing a Mao-style suit. I guess the tens of millions dead under Mao’s regime didn’t make the conference brochure.

The endorsing organizations tell you everything else you need to know: the Democratic Socialists of America, Organized Communities Against Deportations, and the Black Rose Anarchist Federation. These aren’t civic groups. They’re ideological organs with a shared goal – dismantling the American system from within.

And here’s where it gets interesting. It’s not just conservatives raising the alarm. Sen. John Fetterman, a Democrat from Pennsylvania, recently called the DSA “deeply anti-American.”

“They’re deeply anti-capitalism. They’re deeply anti-the American way of life,” Fetterman said.

I never thought I’d find myself quoting John Fetterman approvingly, but here we are. When a Democrat from a blue-collar state is telling you these people are a problem, maybe it’s time the rest of his party starts listening.

The historical record speaks for itself

House Speaker Mike Johnson put it in terms that anyone who lived through the Cold War will recognize immediately:

From House Speaker Mike Johnson:

Karl Marx believed and he taught and said, socialism is a step toward communism. It’s a process. Communism is anti-American. It’s the opposite of our ideals. We’re one nation under God. Communism begins with a premise that there is no God. The state is the god effectively. … It never works and it ends in poverty, destruction, political violence, human suffering. That is the story of communism.

Johnson wasn’t done. He warned that “insurgent left candidates are winning the Democrat primaries all across the country. The barbarians are inside the gate. It’s very, very serious stuff.”

This isn’t academic anymore

And that’s the part that should keep every American up at night. This conference isn’t some dusty Marxist book club in a basement. It’s a networked, nationally endorsed operation designed to feed activists and candidates straight into the political pipeline – right in time for the midterms.

I’ve watched this country argue about a lot of things over the years. Tax policy, foreign entanglements, the size of government. Those are honest disagreements between people who love America. This? This is a movement built on the explicit premise that America’s foundations – free markets, individual liberty, faith – are the enemy. That’s not a policy difference. That’s a threat.

Our parents and grandparents spent half a century staring down the Soviet Union to make sure this ideology never took root here. They didn’t sacrifice so a new generation could slap a logo on it and charge admission.

So what exactly are we waiting for?

They used to whisper about revolution. Now they’re putting it on a schedule and selling tickets.

Key Takeaways

  • The Socialism 2026 Conference openly promotes Marxism, anti-American ideology, and anti-Israel activism in Chicago.
  • Even Democrat Sen. Fetterman calls the DSA “deeply anti-American” and “deeply anti-capitalism.”
  • Speaker Johnson warns socialist “barbarians are inside the gate” ahead of critical midterm elections.
  • This is an organized political pipeline targeting the next generation – not a fringe gathering.
