It is rare that both parties in the House of Representatives see eye-to-eye. Most issues divide Republicans and Democrats. And little gets done because of that. But one issue was so important, that both parties came together to pass a resolution.
Everyone… except one person.
The House issued a vote to condemn the vile actions of a terrorist group. The vote sends a message to Americans, and people around the world, that the country is strongly opposed to what this group did to helpless victims. But in a surprise move, one “squad” member refused to vote “yes” on this measure.

One House lawmaker, a Democrat, voted “present” on Wednesday for a resolution condemning rape and sexual violence committed by Hamas in its war against Israel following the group’s terrorist attacks in October…In House floor remarks, [Rep. Rashida Tlaib] said the resolution “rightfully denounces any sexual violence by Hamas,” but she claimed to be “disturbed” by how it lacks similar language for how Israeli forces allegedly treat Palestinians.
Both Republicans and Democrats voted to pass a resolution condemning the horrific acts of sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas during and after the October 7th attack in Israel. The New York Times and other outlets reported eyewitness accounts of what these terrorists did to many of their victims.
Yet Palestinian-born Democrat, Rashida Tlaib, voted “present” as an act of protest against the resolution. Tlaib has outraged many in recent months over her seeming defense of Palestine, while issuing attacks against Israel.
She even led a rally against President Biden for his support of Israel. Tlaib appeared to make threats against the Democrat president saying, “We won’t forget.” Long before the October 7th attack, Tlaib spread anti-Israel sentiments from Congress.
The Democrat claimed she refused to support the measure because it did not address claims of how Israel has treated Palestinians. There appear to be no reports that suggest Israeli forces are sexually assaulting Palestinians. News indicates that Israel is focusing on bringing Hamas to justice, being careful to avoid civilian casualties.
But anti-Israel activists like Tlaib have condemned Israel’s actions in response to the terror attack. Yet they have appeared to go soft on Hamas, a terror group dedicated to killing Jewish people.
