Texas Just Put Blue States to Shame – House Makes Unexpected Move that Shakes the Nation

Disclaimer: Patriot Journal shares ownership with Vici Media Group who had Ken Paxton as a client at one point.

I don’t have to tell you just how many public officials are accused of wrongdoing. It seems like a week doesn’t pass before we hear about a district attorney, mayor, city council member, or even a governor being outed for some kind of crime.

But, more often than not, these officials (always in blue states) get off scot-free.

It seems that Democrats work around the clock to protect their own, even when they are caught red-handed. That’s probably why the likes of Hillary Clinton or Hunter Biden aren’t behind bars. Yet recently, a red state official had been accused of a serious offense. What do you think the GOP majority did? Sweep it under the rug? Not on your life.

From Fox News:

The Texas House of Representatives on Monday delivered articles of impeachment against Attorney General Ken Paxton to the state Senate…

The House approved 20 articles of impeachment on sweeping allegations of wrongdoing against Paxton that have trailed the state’s top lawyer for years, including abuse of office and bribery. The vote immediately suspended Paxton from office.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton was accused of wrongdoing. The DOJ had even investigated accusations of bribery coming out of his office. He is being accused of helping a donor, among other charges.

While Paxton is innocent until proven guilty, what we do know is that the Texas legislation was not going to ignore these allegations. The state House, which is overwhelmingly Republican, voted 121-23 to impeach Paxton.

The attorney general was immediately suspended and the issue moved to the state Senate.

If you think this attorney general is being railroaded, keep in mind one important detail. Texas requires a simple majority in the House for an official to be impeached. But it will require two-thirds of the state Senate for Paxton to be convicted and removed from office.

That means this won’t be a simple matter. The Texas State Senate will need to hold hearings and be convinced of Paxton’s guilt. He will have a chance to defend himself before the state, which has voted for him three times to be attorney general.

When was the last time we saw this kind of accountability in a blue state? When was the last time Democrats in Congress actually took such steps to hold their own accountable? We’ve heard endless stories about how Joe Biden and his family have been bought and sold by China. Yet not once has a Democrat even suggested an inquiry or investigation.

AOC receives gifts from the MET. Chicago’s mayors turn a blind eye to crime. Numerous district attorneys interfere with elections. Yet Democrats stay silent.

Why is it always Republicans who have to do the right thing and obey the law? Don’t Democrats care about law and justice? I guess not when it comes to holding their own to the same standard as everyone else.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Texas state House voted 121-23 to impeach Attorney General Paxton.
  • The AG has been accused of bribery and other acts of wrongdoing.
  • This comes as Democrats refuse to challenge their own members when accused of doing wrong.
