Thankfully, the Donald Trump administration has now stepped in to repurpose a controversial Biden-era app to help solve the illegal immigration crisis. The Department of Homeland Security announced the launch of the CBP Home app, which replaces the Biden administration’s CBP One app that was used to schedule appointments for migrants to enter the United States.

Unlike its predecessor, the new app serves a completely different purpose: facilitating the self-deportation of illegal immigrants currently in the country. It can’t be denied that this is exactly what real border security looks like.

“The Biden Administration exploited the CBP One App to allow more than 1 million aliens to illegally enter the United States. With the launching of the CBP Home App, we are restoring integrity to our immigration system,” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement.

The new app provides a stark contrast to the previous administration’s approach to immigration enforcement. Remember when we used to have actual consequences for breaking our laws?

Biden’s Border Disaster

Under President Biden, the CBP One app became a gateway for illegal entry. The app allowed migrants to schedule appointments at ports of entry to be paroled into the U.S.

The results were catastrophic. Over one million migrants were paroled into the country through this digital doorway. I’ve certainly never understood why anyone thought this was a good idea.

Border Patrol agents were overwhelmed while communities suffered. American taxpayers footed the bill – as usual.

On his first day in office, President Trump ended the use of CBP One for parole purposes. His administration paused applications for parole programs. They also allowed ICE to cancel parole statuses of migrants who had already entered.

The CBP Home app represents a fundamental shift in immigration policy. It puts American interests first – isn’t that how it should be?

“The CBP Home App gives aliens the option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream. If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return,” Secretary Noem warned.

The app allows illegal immigrants to “Submit Intent to Depart” and provide information to verify they have left the U.S. This function is limited to those who were paroled into the country.

This approach offers a clear choice. Leave voluntarily now and maintain the possibility of legal return. Otherwise,  face deportation and permanent exclusion. That’s what we call sovereignty, folks—I mean, citizens.

Restoring the Rule of Law

The Trump administration has moved swiftly to enforce immigration laws. The results are already evident, despite what the mainstream media might tell you.

Border crossings have plummeted. Speaking to a joint session of Congress last week, President Trump explained the dramatic shift.

“They heard my words, and they chose not to come, much easier that way,” he said.

The administration has also ended the use of CBP One for domestic flights unless being used for self-deportation. Extensions for Temporary Protected Status for some nationalities have been canceled.

These actions send a clear message: America welcomes legal immigrants. But those who break our laws will face consequences.

The shift from enabling illegal entry to facilitating self-deportation represents a return to fundamental principles. A nation without borders is not a nation at all.
