Trump Gives Mitch McConnell a Direct Order – He Claims Minority Leader is a Democrat Pawn, Demands Firing and Prosecution

What’s Happening:

Donald Trump is the undisputed leader of the Republican Party. His endorsement can make or break a conservative’s career.

So, someone like Mitch McConnell should be getting very worried about now. Because Trump has been saving his biggest attacks for the old turtle.

From The Washington Examiner:

Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday accused Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) of being “a pawn for the Democrats” and called on Republicans to remove him as Senate minority leader “immediately.”

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump shared an article alleging McConnell and his wife, former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, have problematic ties to China, and cited McConnell’s failure to stop the Inflation Reduction Act as reasons for his immediate ouster.

Woah, talk about brutal. Trump hasn’t been a fan of McConnell’s for a long time.

But now, he’s blasting the Republican Senate leader with both barrels.

He linked to an article that alleges Mitch and his wife Elaine Chao as having problematic ties to China.

But Trump warned they would never be prosecuted, because of their ongoing support for the left’s socialist agenda.

He blames McConnell for letting Democrats spend trillions of dollars through wasteful bills. McConnell had a chance to freeze the left in their tracks.

Instead, he gave them exactly what they wanted. Trump accused McConnell of being a “pawn” for Democrats who will never support the GOP.

In short, Trump is demanding he be removed as their Senate leader—and perhaps prosecuted for what they’ve done for China.

This call could be critical to the party’s future. If Republicans retake majorities in the House and Senate, they will have to vote on new leaders.

The House appears to be in good hands with Rep. Kevin McCarthy. But Trump is calling on Republicans in the Senate to pick someone, anyone, other than Mitch.

But will Senate Republicans listen? Trump is warning them sternly. Even if Republicans regain the majority, Mitch could still work for the left.

And that could spell doom for many of us.

Key Takeaways:

  • Trump blasted Mitch McConnell and his wife for their connections to China.
  • He said McConnell is helping Democrats, so he won’t get prosecuted.
  • The 45th president is calling on Republicans to pick a new leader in the Senate.
