Trump Halts Pennsylvania Comeback Rally to Honor New American Hero

On Wednesday, Donald Trump returned to Butler, Pennsylvania for the first time since an assassination attempt was made on his life on July 13. While there, Trump stopped his rally to pay tribute to one of the newest fallen American heroes, Corey Comperatore.

When 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire on Trump and hit him in the ear, he also ended up killing Comperatore, a 50-year-old firefighter. Comperatore spent his final moments selflessly shielding his family from the bullets. Sadly, he lost his life in the process.

Two other rally attendees were injured in the shooting as well. Trump himself was hit in the ear by a bullet, but he has since made a full recovery. During his triumphant return to Butler on Wednesday, Trump made a point of honoring Comperatore.

From Daily Wire:
“Most of all we lift the memory, our memory, to the brave firefighter who was so cruelly taken from us,” Trump said. “A very brave guy. Loved by his family and his friends. He was really loved.”

“In his last act on this earth, Corey threw himself over his wife and daughters and died shielding them from the bullets,” Trump added. “Corey is a hero to all of us.”

Trump talked about the fundraising efforts for Comperatore’s family, saying that one of his friends had donated $1 million to Comperatore’s wife. A GoFundMe page backed by the former president for Comperatore and the other rally victims has reached more than $6.5 million.

“We will carry Corey’s spirit of love and devotion and patriotism for all time. And we will never forget Corey or his beautiful family,” Trump said, calling for a moment of silence.

Comperatore Really Is An American Hero

Trump’s tribute to Comperatore is touching and spot on. The way that Comperpatore gave his life to protect his family epitomizes everything that makes an American hero.

Because Trump was the target of this horrific assassination attempt, the mainstream media has tried to move on and forget it as soon as possible. Had this been an assassination attempt on Joe Biden, we never would have heard the end of it. Any liberal who was killed or injured in such an assassination attempt would have been praised and honored in the media for weeks and months to come.

Since Comperatore was a proud conservative attending a Trump rally, however, he has been virtually ignored by the mainstream media. That’s what makes it all the more powerful that Trump would give him the tribute that he deserves.

Yesterday’s rally also says a lot about Trump himself. He should be applauded for having the guts to return to Butler less than one month after he was nearly killed there. This just goes to show that despite what the media says about him, Trump really is a tough guy who is not going to let the threat of violence deter him from continuing his quest to make America great again.

In the end, Trump is the strong leader America needs right now. His epic return to Butler is proof of that!
