The battle between American values and the left-wing ideas of global organizations has been heating up for years. Big international groups keep pushing ideas that regular Americans find weird and out of touch with their basic beliefs about family, culture, and love of country. From our schools to fancy meeting rooms across the world, these faraway offices want more and more control.

President Trump promised to put American interests first and shake up how we deal with global groups. Since coming back to the White House, he’s shown he’s not afraid to walk away from international clubs that don’t care about American values. This tough approach makes global elites mad but makes many Americans cheer.

The latest target in Trump’s fight is UNESCO. On Tuesday, the Trump team announced that America will leave this United Nations group because it pushes ideas that go against American values.

From ‘Fox News’:

“President Donald Trump has decided to withdraw the United States from UNESCO – which supports woke, divisive cultural and social causes that are totally out-of-step with the commonsense policies that Americans voted for in November. This president will always put America First and ensure our country’s membership in all international organizations aligns with our national interests,” White House Deputy Spokesperson Anna Kelly said on Tuesday.

This isn’t the first time Trump has said “no thanks” to UNESCO. He pulled out in 2017 during his first term. Then Biden put America back in during 2023. This latest exit follows Trump’s pattern of leaving groups like the World Health Organization and the UN Human Rights Council earlier this year.

Protecting American Values

State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce didn’t mince words. She said, “continued involvement with UNESCO is not in the national interest of the United States.”

Bruce pointed out UNESCO’s love for “the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals.” She called this a “globalist, ideological agenda” that doesn’t match our America First approach.

The State Department also slammed UNESCO for letting Palestine become a member. They called this move “highly problematic” and “contrary to U.S. policy.” This has led to too much anti-Israel talk in the organization.

For years, people have criticized UNESCO for its clear bias and push for left-wing social ideas. The group, which watches over world heritage sites and education programs, keeps taking sides on issues in ways that go against traditional values.

Standing with Allies

Israel’s leaders are happy with Trump’s decision. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar called it “a necessary step” that helps Israel get fair treatment in the UN system.

Israeli UN Ambassador Danny Danon praised America’s “moral clarity.” He said the move shows America won’t “support entities that promote hatred, historical revisionism, and political divisiveness.”

UNESCO’s Director-General Audrey Azoulay said she’s sad about the decision. She claims the organization has changed since Trump’s last exit. But the Trump team isn’t buying it. They don’t see any real improvements.

America will officially leave UNESCO on December 31, 2026. This gives time to handle the exit while Trump looks at other international groups America belongs to.

Trump’s decision shows what many Americans feel – that global groups often work against American interests and values. By putting America’s freedom first, Trump shows that America will only join world groups when it’s good for Americans.

As foreign critics complain, Trump’s supporters see this as proof he’s keeping his promise to put America first. Even when that means making tough choices that not everyone around the world likes.

Key Takeaways

  • Trump withdrew America from UNESCO, citing its support for “woke” policies that don’t match American values.
  • This marks Trump’s third exit from UN organizations, following earlier withdrawals from WHO and Human Rights Council.
  • Israel praised the decision, saying UNESCO has shown anti-Israel bias for years.
  • The withdrawal reinforces Trump’s America First approach to international relations.
