Democrats seemed to try to use the crisis to push their far-left agenda. We saw their schemes unfold in real-time.
When Trump sought to provide relief to workers, Pelosi held up the money (twice). I wonder how many Americans suffered, as Pelosi showed off her ice cream?
Well, two can play at that game. And the president is using bailout funds to get his agenda done.
From Twitter:
Well run States should not be bailing out poorly run States, using CoronaVirus as the excuse! The elimination of Sanctuary Cities, Payroll Taxes, and perhaps Capital Gains Taxes, must be put on the table. Also lawsuit indemnification & business deductions for restaurants & ent.
Boom! Trump’s got these liberals by the shorts now, doesn’t he? He took to Twitter to say that he would not support any kind of COVID-19 bailouts to states that back unacceptable policies.
He mentioned sanctuary cities, payroll taxes, and even the capital gains tax as things that need to be negotiated.
The elimination of payroll and capital gains taxes would be tremendous. But perhaps not nearly as tremendous as ending sanctuary policies.
Trump offered up a wise idea: to provide lawsuit indemnification (as many lawsuits are on their way), along with business deductions for those hit hardest by the shutdowns.
President Trump is no fool. His earlier attempts to defund sanctuary states hit a snag in court. But do you really think he’d sign a bill to bailout liberal states?
Especially when many believe they are using the crisis to get cash to cover years of reckless spending?
Trump and the GOP can use this as a chance to end decades of bad decisions. If states like California, New York, or Michigan want money to address the shutdowns, they’ll need to eliminate some bad stuff.
Will these states get rid of all of these policies? Oh, you better believe they are going to fight.
But even if they just get rid of payroll taxes, it would be a massive victory for Americans.
Let’s be honest, though. At a time like this, can we really afford a job-killing policy like sanctuary cities?
Americans need to be put first. If states refuse to come to terms over that, then they don’t deserve that money.
SHARE if you support Trump eliminating sanctuary cities once and for all.
