Many people are speculating on why Fox News would axe one of its biggest hosts. Tucker Carlson had the highest-rated show in his time slot. He was loved by viewers all over the country. His honest and uncompromising reporting won him respect–and hated by the radical left.
Yet Fox News got rid of him, not even letting him say goodbye.
Some suggested heavy lawsuits are forcing Fox to cut its budget. They are poised to lose billions over orchestrated attacks by liberal-owned companies. But a new report suggests something entirely different led to Fox booting Tucker. Apparently, Rupert Murdoch was triggered…
From Fox News:
A source has revealed that Tucker Carlson was reportedly removed from Fox News by Fox Corporation Chairman Rupert Murdoch following a speech made by the now-former Fox host on Friday that contained religious overtones.
Uh… what? A recent Vanity Fair article claims that Murdoch was upset by a speech Tucker made during a Heritage Foundation event. This group is a renowned conservative organization. It is no surprise they invited Carlson to speak at their 50th Anniversary gala.
But why would Murdoch fire him over “religious overtones” in his speech? According to an unnamed source, Murdoch considered Tucker’s comments “too extreme,” so he canned him. Really? What were these comments that Rupert couldn’t stand?
“I have concluded it might be worth taking just 10 minutes out of your busy schedule to say a prayer for the future, and I hope you will,” Carlson said.
Really!? How is that extreme? Carlson simply encouraged a group of conservative (and most likely religious) Americans to spend ten minutes a day praying. That is what triggered Murdoch to fire one of his top hosts?
According to the source, that comments like that “freak” Murdoch out. Um… I’d hate to break it to Murdoch, but lots and lots of Americans pray. His largest audience, conservatives, pray every day. Why would such a reasonable comment from Carlson’s speech move Murdoch to get rid of him?
We can’t confirm that this is the real reason. But if it is, Murdoch might have a lawsuit on his hands. Tucker might even sue over wrongful termination if Murdoch fired him over his religious beliefs. A boss can’t can someone simply over what they believe.
Fox might have gotten rid of Tucker for some other reason. But regardless, they might soon regret it.
- Rupert Murdoch reportedly fired Tucker over religious comments.
- Carlson encouraged an audience to pray during a Heritage Foundation speech.
- According to one source, religious “stuff freaks” him out.
