Despite panicked shoppers wiping out shelves, America has had little problems providing food to the hungry. Perhaps, until now.

Because of continued lockdown measures and the overall fear of the disease, we are seeing meat processing plants shutting down.

And now a major food provider says that unless we act quickly, we might be facing big problems ahead.

Tyson Foods executives said in a full-page ad published Sunday that the closure of food-processing plants due to the coronavirus is “breaking” the supply chain…

“There will be limited supply of our products available in grocery stores until we are able to reopen our facilities that are currently closed,” he added.

The head of Tyson Foods published an ad saying that the supply chain might break down unless they are able to reopen plants.

We know that because of the shutdown of countless restaurants, demand for food has dropped.

That has led to a massive oversupply of food—food that has gone to waste.

Add to that the fact that food processing companies have been pressured to shut down facilities if a few patients are found positive for the disease.

In the long-term, we could be looking at food shortages, unless we act.

President Trump said that the solution can’t be worse than the problem. There are plenty of Americans who, by now, believe that the overall lockdown of America has gone on long enough.

If we reopen states, it will mean food processing facilities can reopen as well. People can fill in for sick workers.

Restaurants will be able to buy more food, spurring on the economy.

But a prolonged atmosphere of panic—will only hurt our industries.

Many have believed we can both protect the most vulnerable while keeping the economy going. The same can be said about protecting workers while keeping plants open.

The question remains though, will our state and local authorities work to reopen all businesses, including our food providers?

Perhaps pressure from Americans will light a fire beneath these states who don’t want to reopen soon?
