Now that Title 42 is gone, experts and border authorities warn that the influx of illegal migrants will surge to catastrophic levels.
So far, the Biden administration has downplayed the issue, as the President said over the weekend that the border situation isn’t as bad as people expected. Vice President Kamala Harris even said things are going “smoothly.”
However, various cities are already feeling a tremendous strain — and in one Democrat-run city, it’s homeless veterans who are suffering.
These vets fought and sacrificed for their country, and they’re having a tough time of things. They often have to move between several temporary living locations in any given year.
They should be treated with as much dignity and respect as possible, and it’s important to remember that of course, they’re all legal citizens of the United States.
However, they’re being forced to make way for incoming illegal residents, and that isn’t sitting well with a lot of people.
Via The Daily Caller:
Twenty homeless veterans were reportedly displaced from New York hotels in order to make way for an expected wave of immigrants coming from New York City, officials say.
Sharon Toney-Finch, CEO of the Yerik Israel Toney Foundation, revealed that homeless veterans in Orange County were informed they would be forced to leave their current temporary living situation to make way for migrants being sent from New York City, according to Mid Hudson News.
As most people know, New York City is a “sanctuary city,” which means undocumented migrants are well protected.
They evidently have no problem with individuals illegally entering this country and are perfectly willing to support them with taxpayer money. They’re also willing to kick out homeless veterans to make room.
Back in January, Democratic NYC Mayor Eric Adams said the city “had no more room” to house incoming migrants.

In addition to evicting those homeless vets, NYC also plans to shift 300 migrants out of NY’s suburbs and send them to Rockland and Orange counties. Officials in those counties are reportedly not happy with the idea, as they’re suing to stop it.
Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus said:
It’s a complete mess and the government has not been forthright and honest with us.
Now they’re talking about some males coming in… forced to wear an ankle bracket so we know where they are.
Toney-Finch said that illegal migrants being booked in hotels have indeed displaced veterans who were living in those hotels until permanent housing could be erected.
The good news is that her team was able to “scramble and find new temporary housing for these veterans.”
But the fact that this had to happen at all is “outrageous,” as GOP Congressman Mike Lawler said. He added that “Mayor Eric Adams chooses to endanger the welfare of our veterans” and it “speaks volumes to what a debacle this has become.”
Some sources claim reports of homeless vets being displaced are being exaggerated, but there doesn’t appear to be any doubt that the influx of migrants is causing a problem.
And as the Biden administration has ended Title 42, many expect the “invasion” – which it has been called by various southern state officials, including Texas Gov. Greg Abbott – will only intensify.
