Western State Swamped by Major Red Wave – Conservatives Just Seized the Primaries in the Red State of Idaho

What’s Happening:

Democrats keep saying that for Republicans to win, they need to ditch Trump’s America-first agenda.

I guess we should listen to our enemies on how to win, right? After all, Democrats are giving more and more ground to radical socialists—and they have the answers!

But Americans aren’t listening. From all appearances, the GOP is taking back its party. And in one red state, “mainstream” Republicans just lost to conservative rivals.

From The Hill:

A conservative wave fueled by anger at the outcome of the 2020 elections and Little’s own effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic crashed over what is already one of the most ruby-red states in America.

Twenty incumbent state legislators either lost their seats or lost races to move from the House to the Senate on Tuesday…

None of the five would pass as moderate in almost any other state. But all five lost to challengers who painted them as roadblocks to conservative progress.

The so-called Republican governor of Idaho, Brad Little, fought off a primary challenger. But his moderate allies in the state legislature were not so lucky.

Twenty state lawmakers lost their seats or nominations against conservative challengers. It appears these “mainstream” Republicans were trounced by newcomers promising to put Americans first.

This is a bellwether moment for Idaho. Already a conservative state, these primary victories mean the state will be moving closer to the right in the coming years.

Previously, conservatives in the state House had tried to pass strong legislation against abortion, transgenderism, and CRT.

But they were all blocked by “Republicans” in the state Senate, who appeared all too willing to appease the left.

Why would Republicans in Idaho be trying to bow to liberals from outside the state? We can’t be sure. But the D.C. swamp runs deep and wide.

Even in places far removed from Washington, the swamp has an effect.

These “mainstream” Republicans might have been bending to the leftward lean of the establishment. Over time, they might have embraced extreme politics, to keep the left happy.

But this election showed that the people of Idaho in no way want that. They elected politicians who were eager to put Americans first.

Sadly, that is a “far right” view in many corners of the country. But, as we are seeing, more and more Americans want it.

Key Takeaways:

  • Twenty “mainstream” Republicans in Idaho lost their primary races.
  • They were beaten by conservative Republicans in the vein of Trump’s agenda.
  • This comes as America-first candidates win primaries across the country.
